Sketch challenge cards

I took some "me time" today on the holiday to make some cards. These two are similar. I was having fun with this paper and my Sizzix machine so I just went with it and made two in the same theme. The first one is for Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge. Stamp: Inkadinkado Paper: DCWV Christmas glitter stack; Bazzill cardstock Accents: Die cuts, brads, ribbon Tools: Sizzix big shot, dies; circle punch Next is a card that combines challenges. The layout is based on the sketch from Stamps and Smiles and I combined it with the Charisma Cardz challenge to use swirls and curls. Snowflakes make swirls, right? There are a couple of swirls on there too for added measure! Stamps: Inkadinkado Paper: DCWV Christmas Glitter stack Accents : Snowflake dies, stickles, ribbon Tools : Big Shot, Nestabilities

I must be wonderful!

I hope my little pup feels this way! You can see her HERE. I know that she is so loving, I feel wonderful to have her. On to my card. This one is for Sketch Saturday and OCC- Pet Parade . (Sorry, my card was sitting a little crooked when I took the picture.) Stamps : Inkadinkado Dogs; Sentiment by MFT Paper : BasicGrey archaic; Bazzill cardstock Tools : Nestabilities labels four, Cuttlebug embossing folder spots and dots Accents : paper flowers, ribbon, rhinestones (Michael's), stickles

Mojo sketch card

I just got around to making a card for the Mojo Monday sketch challenge. I used K&C0. Wild Raspberry papers for this one. The stamps are from Garden Delights by Inkadinkdao. I colored them with my Marvy Markers before stamping. I colored the image on the left with rose pink and light green and them I "thumped" on some pink and green. On the image on the right, I used a base of pink and light green and "thumped" on some orange and green. I chalked around the edges of the cardstock and the images with some pink chalk. The Happy Mother's Day sentiment is by Studio G. The rhinestone flowers are from Michael's by Darice. I just picked up those today. I actually picked up a lot of little embellies- it's hard to know when to quit when they are only a dollar, but boy, those dollars add up! Good thing I had that discount coupon. If I'm not back to post before, I hope you have a blessed and Happy Easter!

Weekend Sketch Set

If you follow Scrapnextras , you know that Laura does these amazing card sets based on some popular weekly sketches. I decided that I wanted to try this, so in between all the painting Saturday and Sunday, I managed to pull this off. I used a brand new paper pack that I purchased last week- K& Co. wild raspberry . I am in love with these papers. Here are my cards: Here is each one with all the details: This one is based on Weekend Sketch challenge which was hosted by M.J. Albright . Notice the ribbon slide- it's a can tab from a Monster energy drink. Stamps: Flourishes; Inkadinkado sentiment Tools: Martha Stewart butterfly punch, Fiskars border punch Accents: Flowers, brad, ribbon, soda pop tab Next is the sketch from Taylored Expressions . I used stickles on my butterfly. Stamps: Inkadinkado; Studio G sentiment Tools: Nestabilities, paper piercer Up next is my card made with Amy's Friday Sketch. Embellishment inspired

Last week's OCC challenge was to use an embellishment as inspiration. (I'm behind, I just got to this today). I took inspiration from the blue birdie ribbon. I embossed a panel with birds and swirls, used a bird stamp, and carried out a blue theme. I also used the sketch from Mojo Monday for this week as my layout. Paper : cardstock, patterned paper (unknown) Stamp : Inkadinkado , Heidi Grace (sentiment) Accents : ribbon, Michael's; button, Bazzill Tools : Cuttlebug birds and swirls embossing folder, Big Shot

Quiet evening at home

We're spending a quiet evening at home. I finished another challenge card. This on is for Sketch Saturday #37. I don't really think this card is "me" but then again I made myself use colors (papers) I would not ordinarily use. Paper : Bazzill cardstock, patterned paper unknown Stamp : Inkadinkado Tools : Marvy markers, Nestabilities, chalk Accents : Brads, rhinestones

Something round

Both cards I'm sharing tonight have something round- circles. That did not even occur to me until I got ready to write this post. They are based on two different sketch challenges. First is my card for the Sweet Sunday Sketch challenge and Flourishes Newsletter Timeless Tuesday. I didn't even start out to complete the Flourishes challenge but I put buttons on here and remembered that challenge is for buttons. Paper : K&Co., cardstock Stamp : Inkadinkado Accents : Bazzill buttons; brads Tools : 1" circle punch; flower punch, Cuttlebug embossing folder; Martha Stewart butterfly punch Next is my card for the Friday Sketchers challenge and Flourishes Newsletter color challenge. I love these colors and you must go back and check out the design team cards on the Flourishes blog! Paper : Basic Grey Urban Prairie Stamp : Inkadinkado Tools : Nestabilities circles and scalloped circles Accents : stitching, stickles

Mojo Monday (on Friday!)

I am absolutely in love with this week's sketch (#72) at Mojo Monday . I made my card last night, and I have a few more ideas for cards. I can think of two more sets of my stamps that this would work with, so I'll be going back to this sketch again. I love layers too and this sketch has lots of them. Here is my card: Papers : HOTP ; cardstock Stamps: birdhouse, Inkadinkado; sentiment, Making Memories Accents: rhinestones, Michael's; ribbon, Offray; flower, Making Memories Tools : Fiskars treading water punch; Nestabilities circles and scalloped circles; decorative scissors

My heart has wings

I've had these Flights of Fancy stamps by HOTP for quite a while now and have been meaing to use them, but the right reason just had not come up yet. I decided they would be perfect for a Valentine's card for hubby, so I used them. I pulled the color combo from the Charisma Cardz challenge to use black, white and one other color. The design of the card is for the MFT sketch challenge over at Splitcoaststampers . It also fits the OCC challenge to use two hearts or more. I wasn't really planning on it being a card for that challenge, but hey, it fits! Come back a little later. I'm posting some blog candy and will tell you why I'm celebrating. Paper: Doodlebug Stamps : Inkadinkado, sentiment and heart; wings, HOTP Accents : Ribbon, (Dots N Dashes); rub on stitches; DCWV Tools/techniques : Cuttlebug heart blocks folder, heat embossing

Technique Thursday - Chalkboard

The coloring on this card was done with the chalkboard technique. The tutorial for this can be found here . Some things to note: You definitely want a solid image. Your chalk is sticking to the ink. An image that is an outline will be impossible to color on dark cardstock. Also, I did wait for my ink to dry. It seemed to be smearing when I started applying the chalk while the ink was wet. The stamp used here is by Inkadinkado. Here's a close up of the image.

Easter cards

I made some Easter cards for my family this week. This one is a variation of the one in my shop. Here's another one. (Sorry about the blurred photo. The card was already sealed up to mail before I realized the pic was bad.) Here is a quick tutorial for making the trifold card. Supplies: Egg stamp Bunny Stamp ( Inkadinkado ) Happy Easter Stamp ( Inkadinkado ) yellow cardstock white cardstock brush markers primary colors ( Marvy Uchida ) ink 1. Make trifold card from yellow cardstock. Start with a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2 inch sheet of cardstock. Score and fold 2 1/4" from one end and 2" from the other end. 2. Stamp egg four times on white cardstock. Color with markers. 3. Trim and mat to bottom third of card front (2 1/4 piece). 4. Stamp bunny on white cardstock. Color. Cut out. 5. Adhere bunny to bottom edge of top third so that he extends below the bottom third inside. 6. Stamp Happy Easter on top third of card.
