Scripture art

I'm sharing a quick little project that I did as a Valentine's gift for my husband. It would really fit any occasion. If you are a stamper, this is a great way to use your stamps for more than cards. I took the Our Daily Bread stamp of Isaiah 40:31, my husband's favorite Bible verse and stamped it on cardstock. I cut that out with a Nestabilities die and cut a larger mat from the same shape die. I also stamped the eagle from the stamp set, colored it with Prismacolor pencils and cut it out. I took the matted verse and adhered it to a piece of Basic Grey paper cut to 4x6 to fit the frame opening. BTW, I got this frame from Tuesday Morning and it came with the large cross. I knew that with the cross it would be perfect for a project for my husband. I adhered the eagle in the corner over this. I wanted a little something else on the frame, so I took a cross charm, cut the hanging loop off with wire cutters, and glued it to the bottom right corner. This all went very quickly...

Easter easel card

I hope everyone is enjoying this first day of spring more than I am. I am sick with allergies and sinus infection so I'm not feeling well. I did manage to finish this card I started last night. I'm sharing it in a few challenges. Paper Sundaes is asking for a multifold easter or spring card. I have been meaning to try the easel card for a while. I think I'm hooked! This was easier than I thought and so pretty. The layout of my card front is the sketch from Midnight Madness #45 . This is the first time I've played there. My image is a digi from Digital Stamp Oasis. Stamp: Digital Stamp Oasis; sentiment- Inkadinkado Paper: BasicGrey wisteria Tools: Nestabilities; Martha Stewart punch; Prismacolor pencils Accents: Making Memories and Prima flowers, pearls This card was submitted for the following additional challenges: Pile it on: Pastels The Pink Elephant - Spring I Love Digi - Easter A Spoonful of Sugar - Easter PaperTake- lilac and lemon

Friends

I love this image. It reminds me of hubby and Bella when we went to pick her up. She just jumped into his arms as if she belonged to him and it made him so happy. We had lost our old dog a month before. She is still missed, but Bella brings us lots of joy. This image can be found at Digital Stamp Oasis . I've incorporated this into the Sketch at Friday Sketchers . Coloring was done with Prismacolor pencils and I sponged Ranger distress ink aroung the edges. Papers are by BasicGrey.

DSO card

I've got another Digital Stamp Oasis DT card to share. This one features Party Squirrel . You can pick him up at the shop now. I've made my card with the sketch at Papertake Weekly and I've added three types of texture for the Crazy4Challenges challenge . I used embossing on the yellow squares, ric rac, and some glitter on the present and balloons. The paper is BasicGrey Lime Ricky and I've colored my image with Prismacolor pencils. Thanks for taking a peak.

Rainy day friend

I've used this great digi image from Phindy's Place with Jen's SFYTT . There is a mega prize involved and I've got some catching up to do. Here is my first card: I've always loved Jen's sketches whether there is a prize involved or not. They are so much fun to work with. I colored my image with Prismacolor pencils. I also combined this with the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge- stitching . I did some faux stitching with a black pen. Stamp: Phindy's Place Paper: Making Memories Tools: Nestabilities circles and scalloped circle; Martha Stewart lace doily punch

Thinking of you

I've made a couple of cards with a "thinking of you sentiment." The first one is for Mo's challenge - clean and simple- white cardstock, ribbon, and image. That was hard for me. Here is my card. I've used Jack and Ginger and colored them with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. This card is also for The Pink Elephant challenge - ribbon ( At least that was simple enough) and Papertake Weekly- gingham (checks) . My next card was made with this week's CPS sketch. Stamp: GKD Tools: FLeur de lis embossing folder, Nestabilities circle, Copics- V15, V17, Y08, Y17

Vintage

Just a quick post to share the card I made for TGF FFF Vintage challenge , CPS , and Little Paper Shop's distressing challenge . This image is Laurie dreamy from The Greeting Farm. I've colored her with Prismacolor pencils and distressed the edges of some of my panels. Thanks for looking. Don't forget about my blog candy HERE . The counter is only 20 hits away from me picking a winner!

Young Love

Hi, hope you have all had a good week. This card was made for Mo's challenge- wood . I've used "Young Love" by Mo at Digital Pencil. I've colored it with Prismacolor pencils and I used papers by Cosmo Cricket. The layout is based on the sketch at Friday Sketchers . This card is also for the following challenges: Stampin for the Weekend- Valentine's Stamp Something- Love

Cake is .. so good!

This cute little fellow can be found at Phindy's Place . I've made this card using the sketch at OCC Sketch Challenge Blog. A few other deets: Image is colored with Prismacolor pencils. Paper is by K&Co.

Prayer time

Matthew 18:4 "Therefore, whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." This verse is the inspiration for Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge this week. The challenge is to make a card with an image of a child or children. I chose this digital image by M&M Designz at Digital-Ink Co. Maybe if we all prayed with that child-like faith, with no doubts, our prayers would be more powerful and would be answered. This card is also made for the Saturday Spotlight "big" challenge. I used a "big" image. I made my card based on Mercy's Sketch #59. I like this sketch and it leaves a lot of liberty to add to it. A few deets: Paper is by Cosmo Cricket-Girl Friday. I've colored this image with Prismacolor pencils.

Sweet baby girl

Simon Says has set a "baby" theme for its challenge. I thought this sweet bunny from Digital-Ink Co. would be perfect for a baby card. On top of that, The Pink Elephant has set a color challenge- all about pink- perfect for a baby girl card. The layout of my card is based on Sketch Saturday's sketch. The paper is from K&Co. I colored the image with Prismacolor pencils.

Spaced out

I'm quickly sharing a card that I made for this week's High Hopes challenge - use spacey colors. I made my card based on the CPS150 sketch. I used BasicGrey Lime Ricky papers. With all those funky patterns and colors, Ace looks like he's ready for a space flight, lol. I've colored him with Prismacolor pencils. Stamp: High Hopes Ace Paper: Lime Ricky BG Tools: Prismacolor pencils, Nestabilities petite and large circles Accents: Brads

All Occasion set

First a reminder that I have candy. Check it out here! I'm sharing my set of cards that I made with the crazy 4 challenges sketch. I had to make a slight tweak to it as I thought it looked better not to have my sentiment overlap my image. I made the cards and a belly band for them for the StampTV Anything but a card challenge. I went with a set of those sentiments you often need at the last minute and don't have time to make up- sympathy, get well, thanks, and a thinking of you. Here they are: Stamps: A Year of Flowers GKD; MFT sentiments; SeeD's (Get well sentiment) Paper: K&Co. Amy Butlery Accent: Ribbon Tools: Nestabilities Large Rectangle; Ribbon tags trio; scallop punches; lace doily punch (Martha Stewart)

Brand new challenge

Dustin Pike is starting up a brand new challenge. The first one calls for Love/Valentine . I've used the image that was given out in the blog hop. It's so darling. I based my layout on the sketch at Papertakeweekly. I've been coloring with Primsacolor pencils again ( don't tell my hubby, he just spent a lot of money on Copics for Christmas, lol.) I used the BasicGrey Sugar Rush paper.

Not too shabby

I made a card for a couple of challenges. One of the challenges is Simon Says - Shabby Chic . I love this style but it is not my style. I rarely create this way. I don't think I pull it off too well, but I am pleased with this card. For a shabby chic effect on this card, I did some sanding to the edged of my paper, some stitching, and put a corsage pin through the ribbon. I've used a stamp from Starving Artist. I have challenged myself to go through my stash and use the never used or rarely used stamps. I also used the sketch from Friday Sketchers . For the Charisma Cardz challenge to use anything new, I've used my new label trio die. Stamp: Starving Artist ; sentiment- SeeD's Paper: Bazzill cardstock, PXS Tools: Nestabilities label trio die, prismacolor pencils Accents: Button, ribbon, flower, corsage pin Do you want this sunflower stamp? It has only been used this once and I've decided that it won't get much more use so I'm adding it to my blog candy. Plea...

Digital Challenges

I'm sharing a card a made for a few digital challenges. I've used an image from Digital Pencil for Mo's Challenge- a sketch. Dare you 2 Digi Stamp is asking for buttons and Digital Tuesday challenged us to use embossing. I embossed the two cardstock panels with a Cuttlebug folder in my Big Shot. I also swiped some ink across the embossing on the blue panel for a little distressing. The image was colored with Prismacolor pencils. Here is the card. Stamp: Mo's Digital Pencil Paper: K&Co., Bazzill cardstock Tools: Cuttlebug Spots and Dots folder Accents: Buttons

Want to win $5,000?

Are you a sketch artist or do you draw or create with Prismacolor pencils, markers, etc. ? Then this challenge may be for you: http://contest.prismacolor.com/ . I was doing some research for pencils and watercolors, and found this. I'm not this type of artist. I don't think stick figures would get me anywhere. I only plan to use the pencils to color something already drawn for me, but I thought I'd share in case anyone with this talent was interested. Today's quote: Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself. unknown
