Fall Tablescape

I'm way ahead of the curve for fall this year. I don't normally due any "fall" decorating until Thanksgiving. We just go from summer to Halloween. This year is different. After putting together my mason jar centerpiece , I just had to go ahead and complete a fall tablescape. The current tablescape had been there since February so it was time for a change. The leaf placemats and champagne colored napkins, along with the wood napkin rings were all purchased at one of our local thrift stores.  White plates, bowls, BHG leaf salad plates and a faux pumpkin in each bowl make up the place settings. A couple of more votives and some cute squirrel ornaments that I found at Tuesday Morning add to the centerpiece. I even stuck one of the squirrels in the tray with the jars. Hope you've enjoyed viewing my fall tablescape. I rounded up even more ideas HERE . Linking up with Tablescape Thursday and these great parties: Think Pink Sundays * Un...

10 Healthy pumpkin recipes

photo source   It's that time again- fall! Time for pumpkin everything! Since we've gone primarily paleo with our diet, I'm so happy to find that pumpkin is still easily included. Here are ten recipes that are paleo, gluten free, and or/dairy free. You can easily make them more compliant by substituting honey for sugar, almond milk for regular milk, and coconut oil for butter. I can't wait to try some of these.   Crockpot pumpkin oatmeal

Pumpkin white chocolate chip muffins

Happy Thanksgiving!! Our pastor spoke last week about what Thanksgiving means- giving thanks- and it's not just naming or counting blessings. It's saying thank you to those who are responsible for those blessings. So, with that in mind, THANK YOU to those of you who follow me, visit me, and comment here to make this little blogging venture fun. I hope you have a happy and Blessed day! Here's a yummy recipe I tried out a couple of weeks ago. You might want to whip these up this afternoon or sometime over the weekend. Pumpkin White Chocolate Chip Muffins I love pumpkin and white chocolate, so what could be better together? I adapted a recipe from Culinary Concoctions.  I don't have any vanilla bean paste (what is that stuff anyway? ) so I used vanilla extract. I cut back the sugar a little and didn't use a whole cup- adjust to your liking. I find that the white chocolate chips add sweetness too. I left out the walnuts (the hubby is allergic). If you'...

No sugar healthy pumpkin waffles

I made these healthy lowfat pumpkin waffles last weekend. I must admit my title is a little misleading- the recipe does call for brown sugar, but I accidentally left it out. ( I must get in too big of a hurry. Remember when I left the eggs out of these cookies ? At least my mistakes haven't hurt the final product.)  Since you usually put sweet toppings on waffles, you might not miss the sugar. Hubby had his with honey, and said they were fine. You see mine covered in pure homemade cane syrup, and folk's that stuff is sweet. If you have a taste for low sugar, you might like them without the sugar. I think they would be better with the sugar. You can find the recipe here. Spider web pumpkin centerpiece

I was inspired by this spider web pumpkin at BHG and decided to try making my own. You may have just seen it in my spooky spider tablescape. I told you I'd give you a few more details, so here it is. There's not much to it- I just didn't want to previous post to get too long and overloaded. I made mine the opposite of theirs. I used a black craft pumpkin and a white marker- a Galaxy scrapbook marker. You could use any white paint pen or white marker. Just draw on the lines for the web and you've got a spider web pumpkin. I didn't permanently adhere the spiders and crow- they are attached with glue dots for easier storage and so I can use them again in another way if I want. I got these spiders from Spirit Halloween. ( I already had the larger spider.) I love these colorful little fellows! Go make yourself a spider web pumpkin. It's all about your own interpretation. Mine is balanced on a bowl turned upside down instead of a cake pedestal. Sha...
