Macronutrients and Micronutrients nutrition and the body

Macronutrients: Carbohydrates, Fat, Protein

Carbohydrates, fat, protein, and alcohol are the only nutrients that contain calories. Alcohol is not considered a macronutrient because it is not necessary for health. Macronutrients are needed in large quantities as they provide the body with energy.

Micronutrients: Vitamins, Minerals

Vitamins and minerals are needed in smaller amounts, but they play an important role in metabolism, tissue function, and prevention of sickness and disease.
