As part of its celebration of 100 years of flight, Delta Air Lines is debuting a new in-flight safety video.
The video covers all the important FAA-required safety points, of course. But the new video also takes passengers on a tour through the history of air travel and the evolution of Delta’s logo and the uniforms worn by flight attendants and pilots throughout the years.
There’s even a cameo by ‘Deltalina,’ a flight attendant who first made an appearance in a Delta Air Lines safety video in 2008 and became a fan favorite for her “no smoking” finger wag.
Star Alliance member All Nippon Airways (ANA) and The Pokémon Company have teamed up to make Pokémon-themed in-flight safety and disembarkation videos that are running now on ANA’s Pikachu Jet NH, a Boeing 787-9 aircraft, and Evee Jet NH, a Boeing 777.
The videos feature a charming assortment of familiar Pokémon characters helping the flight crew guide passengers through the safety instructions.

Are you a fan of the historical romance TV series Bridgerton, or just bored with staid, straightforward airline safety videos?
Then taketh a look at this new genre entry from British Airways titled May We Haveth One’s Attention.
The charming, entertaining and, most importantly, educational, video is a wee bit over 5 minutes long and features more than 40 British Airlines staff. The video will run on the airline’s long-haul flights starting August 1 – but you can enjoy it right here.
And while we’re on the topic of safety videos, let’s take a moment to remember fitness instructor, TV personality and imp, Richard Simmons who starred in this Air New Zealand “Fit to Fly” safety video more than a dozen years ago.
The new video is filled with important safety information, of course.
But Hawaiian Airlines’ new safety video also features scenes from all four major Hawaiian islands – Oʻahu, Maui, Hawaiʻi Island and Kauaʻi.
The new video also features 57 new and original cast members, including teenagers or adults who were keiki (children) in the airline’s 2015 safety video.
A good sign that we’re moving back to ‘normal’ in the travel world is the introduction of fresh airline safety videos that use a bit of wit and whimsey to get passeners to pay attention to the important safety instructions.
British Airways has a new safety video that will roll out on the carrier’s long-haul aircraft starting May 1, 2023.
The five-minute video features British Airways staff in key roles as well as as a cameo by British rapper, Little Simz, who takes off her headphones, and remarks ‘What?!’ in response to one of the instructions.
Elsewhere, a real-life farmer and two fishermen are shown inflating their life jackets.
In addition to drawing attention to the safety instructions, “we also wanted to inject some wit and showcase Britishness, and all the quirks that put us on the map by shining a light on real life people – from fishermen and chip shop workers to friends hanging out, as well as some well known faces who help put Britain on a stage,” said Calum Laming, British Airways’ Chief Customer Officer.
