Timothee Chalamet was born and raised in Manhattan, New York. He is the son of  Nicole Fender and Marc Chalamet. Timothee Chalamet’s mother, Nicole is a real estate broker and Broadway dancer whereas his father, Marc is an editor at the UNICEF.

Chalamet also has an older sister named Pauline. He attended schools such as PS 87 William T. Sherman School and Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. After a year in Columbia University majoring in cultural anthropology, Chalamet transferred to Gallatin School of Individualized Study to pursue his acting career.
