Coming soon: Trafficking updates in Sept / Oct 2021

New entity limits

Estimated week of October 25, 2021

  • Maximum of 200,000 Placements per Advertiser
    • Note: only Active and Inactive placements will count towards this limit; Archived placements will not
  • Maximum of 600 Ads per Placement (excluding tracking ads)
  • Maximum of 600 Creatives per Ad (excluding tracking creatives)
  • Maximum of 20 assets per creative.

Most advertisers are under these limits. There will be a one-time cleanup to help advertisers meet the limits. In the future, advertisers will receive a notification in Campaign Manager 360 when they are approaching the  entity limits. Then entities can be archived or unassigned accordingly.

Placements per Advertiser Limit

No advertisers are exceeding this limit with live placements, so there will be no disruption to active campaigns.
  • Advertisers with more than 150,000 unarchived placements, will have placements archived that have not served in the last 12 months. If an advertiser still has more than 150,000 placements, those that haven’t served in the past 6 months will be archived.
  • Archived Placements are still visible in the user interface and reporting. They can be un-archived within 60 days.

Ads per placement limit

  • Advertisers with Placements with more than 600 ads assigned, will have ads that have not served in the past 6 months unassigned.

Creatives per ad limit

  • Advertisers with Ads that have more than 600 Creatives assigned will have creatives that have not served in the past 6 months unassigned.

Assets per creative limit for audio & video

  • Creatives will be limited to no more than 20 combined audio, video, and publisher hosted assets.
  • Customers should remove assets from impacted creatives above this limit

Updates to placement status

Estimated week of October 25, 2021

  • There will be a new inactive status for placements that are no longer serving.
  • Archived placements will no longer be able to serve.
    • To avoid disruption to live campaigns, we will unarchive any Placements in the archived state that are actively serving.
    • The archived state will become permanent after 60 days, after which the placement can no longer be unarchived or modified.

Creatives without creative exit events will be disabled

  • Rich Media in-page creatives (authored in Campaign Manager 360) are required to have Creative Exit Events.
  • Older creatives that are missing these exit events will be disabled and archived.
  • Customers should replace impacted creatives.

Creatives with Invalid Assets will be disabled

A small number of creatives will be archived and disabled due to one of the following invalid asset issues:

  • Creative has a corrupted image

  • An individual HTML5 bundle is larger than supported

Customers should update impacted creatives if they want to continue to run them.
