You can find and download apps and digital content in the Google Play Store Google Play.

What you can do with Google Play

If you plan to buy apps or something within the apps you download, set up a payment method.

Set a payment method to use with all apps

You can use this payment method to buy apps, or items within the apps you download from Google Play, including the apps mentioned above. When you add a payment method, you'll automatically get access to thousands of books, movies, TV shows, and games.

  1. On your Android phone, go to your payment methods in Google Play.
  2. Tap Add a payment method.
  3. Choose the payment method you want to add.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Troubleshooting download issues

If you are having trouble downloading apps or other content, here are some things you can try:

Check your internet connection

Ensure you have a strong Wi-Fi or mobile data connection. If using Wi-Fi, try moving closer to the router. If using mobile data, check your signal strength.

Restart your device
  1. Press and hold the Power button.
  2. Tap Power off or Restart.
  3. If your device doesn’t restart, press and hold the Power button until your device turns on again.
Check date and time settings

Make sure the date and time on your device are correct.

Clear Google Play Store cache and data

Important:

  • Clearing cache from Google Play Store is the most common solution to issues when you download apps from Google Play Store.
  • When you clear the cache and data, it may delete some settings on the Google Play Store app like parental controls and password protection. It will ask you to reagree to the Terms of Service the next time you open the Google Play Store.
  1. Find the Google Play Store app on your device's home or app screen.
  2. Touch and hold the Google Play Store app.
  3. Tap App Info .
  4. Tap Storage & cache and then Clear Cache.
  5. Tap Clear storage and then Delete.

If these steps resolve your issue, re-enable password protection and parental controls. If these steps didn't resolve your issue, try to clear cache and data from Google Play services before you restore your settings.
