If you can't see a site or page, you can try to fix it.
"You need permission"
You'll see this error if you don't have permission to see an item on the page.
Here are some steps you can try:
- Switch accounts: You’re currently signed in as . If you have more than one Google account, or an account for school, work, or your website, switch to a different account.
- Contact the site owner: Ask the site owner to change what you can see on the site.
- Ask for permission to see a file: If you can't see a Google Doc, calendar, video, or other file, ask the file owner for permission.
- Ask for help on the Google Sites Help Forum.
- Contact your administrator: If you have a Google Account through work or school, contact your admin for help.
Can't use new Google Sites
Here are some steps you can try:
- Switch accounts: You’re currently signed in as [email placeholder]. If you have more than one Google account, or an account for school, work, or your own website, switch to a different account.
- Check your browser: Use a browser that works with new Google Sites.
- Ask for help on the Google Sites Help Forum.
- Contact your administrator: If you have a Google Account through work or school, contact your admin for help.
"404" errors
You'll see this error if you visited a site or page that doesn’t exist, or that you don’t have permission to see.

Report a problem or illegal activity
You can report a Google Site if you think it breaks one or more of our Program policies.
- At the bottom right of any new Sites page, or bottom left of any classic Sites page, click Report abuse.
- Complete the report and click Submit.
