Register your guest account

If you skipped creating an account and logged in to Waze as a ‘guest’, you can register this guest account retroactively.

Important: If you ever need to recover your account (for example, when switching devices) and all your saved settings, preferences, and more, you must register your account.

How do I know if I have a guest account?

  1. Open Waze on your phone or tablet
  2. Tap
  3. If you see “Hey Wazer” near the top of the screen, then you have a non-registered guest account. Follow the steps below to register.

  1. Open Waze on your phone or tablet
  2. Tap
  3. Tap View profile
  4. Tap Register this account
  5. Tap Register this account again on the next screen
  6. Follow the instructions to add and verify your email address, or connect your Google account

 

Android Auto

Disconnect your phone from your in-car system and register your guest account on your phone. You can then access this account when you use Waze in your car.

Android Automotive (AAOS)

Register your guest account on AAOS

You can skip the login step and use your guest account on AAOS. If you want to register this account, you can do so on your phone.

CarPlay

Register your guest account on CarPlay

Disconnect your phone from your in-car system and register your guest account on your phone. You can then access this account when you use Waze in your car.

Why didn't I get a verification email?

If you didn’t get a verification email, try the following:

  • Make sure there aren’t any typos in your email address
  • Make sure you’ve entered your full email address – for example, “[email protected]” instead of “username@gmail”
  • Make sure you’re in the inbox of the correct email address
  • Check your email’s spam folder for the verification code
  • Search for “[email protected]” in your inbox

Note: If your email inbox is on another device than the one you're using to log in, do the following:

  1. Open your inbox from a web browser
  2. Open the verification email and tap Verify email. A new tab will open with a verification code.
  3. In Waze, enter the code

Why wasn't my email verified?

If you weren't able to verify your email, try the following:

  1. Go back to Waze
  2. Tap Having trouble?
  3. Tap Resend verification email

Using email on your mobile device?

  1. Go to your inbox
  2. Open the verification email
  3. Tap Verify email

Note: You'll be taken back to the Waze app automatically.

Using email on a web browser?

  1. Go to your inbox
  2. Open the verification email
  3. Click Verify email. A new browser will open with the code.
  4. Enter the code in Waze

Why doesn't the email have a verification code?

When you open the email on your phone, you should be taken to the Waze app automatically, with no need to enter a code. If you're using email on your computer, the code should appear in the body of the email.

Let's try again:

  1. Open Waze on your mobile device
  2. Tap Log in
  3. Enter your email address
  4. Tap Next

  1. Go to your inbox
  2. Open the verification email
  3. Tap Verify email

Note: You'll be taken back to the Waze app automatically.

Using email on a web browser?

  1. Go to your inbox
  2. Open the verification email
  3. Click Verify email. A new browser will open with the code.

Why do I need to choose between 2 accounts?

If the email address you entered is already associated with an existing Waze account, you'll be given the option to choose between 2 accounts. To continue, you must choose only one account. The other account will be deleted, including:
