Rest stop Kazano-no-Sato is a facility where visitors can stop by and take a rest and relax at Matsumoto Castle, Kamikochi, Shirakone Onsen, Norikura Kogen, and other tourist attractions that Matsumoto City prides itself on.
Many people stop by to buy local produce Cafeterias, rice kernel greens, oyaki, egoma oil, as well as seasonal vegetables and fruits.
The highlight is the "windhole," a natural refrigerator cooled by underground water gushing from the mountain, which maintains a constant temperature throughout the year and is cool inside even in mid-summer. The "Mido Workshop," where visitors can try their hand at Miyama-ori weaving, which has been passed down from generation to generation in the Ajimu area, is also located next door and is full of attractions.
