A 2-minute walk from the east exit of Ikebukuro Station. An izakaya where you can enjoy charcoal-grilled skewers and other delicacies made with the famous Oyama chicken.
The food served at Gen is rich in variety, including yakitori, chicken nanban, local chicken chanko nabe, and other local chicken dishes using the thick, chewy, and flavorful "Daisen Chicken," a famou |
It's been a while since I last visited Fried Skewers Gen @ Minami-Ikebukuro. It's a Sunday night, but since it's the first half of the holidays, the seats are filled up, which is nice. The restaurant is small, but there are about 8 seats at the counter and about 4 tables, and the atmosphere is calm. This time I ordered the usual course, and first of all, I enjoyed the rich flavor of the sea urchin chawanmushi appetizer with beer, and then the lamb and potato salad came out, both of which were good. There are 10 kushiage Fried Skewers, and the batter is thin and crispy, and the flavor of the ingredients is alive and it's exquisite. In particular, the black wagyu beef is battered with charcoal, and the shrimp is angel shrimp, which is creative. The salad for the palate cleanser used myoga, and the clam soup was elaborate and delicious! ! The final dish was seasonal rice dish with sakura shrimp and bamboo shoots! However, the drinks are a little expensive... If you drink wine, it's best to order a bottle. Still, I was very satisfied with the delicious food, the atmosphere, and the hospitality of the staff.
