西池袋５丁目、「串カツ田中」。【29th】 : Kushi Katsu Tanaka Nishikebukuro Ten

[b:While watching the WBC, I popped in and stuffed my cheeks with kushikatsu.] This is the local Kushikatsu Tanaka. While walking back to my house from Kanamecho, I noticed a TV in front of the store. Due to the game's progress, I couldn't leave the place, so I went in. (lol) A local acquaintance was drinking in the back, but he was glued to the TV in the back and didn't notice. He gives off a bad impression of being a heavy drinker. So I went right in front of the TV at the very front. I drank a "Tomato Highball" and started off with free refills of cabbage and "Macasala". The kushikatsu was from the "Five Standards". The five were "Onion", "Beef Kushikatsu", "Shrimp", "Lotus Root", and "Pork Kushikatsu". Rather than the texture of each ingredient, I drank it for the sweetness of the batter and the sweetness of the sauce. Many people choose Kushikatsu Tanaka because of the fine batter and the taste of the fried oil. And the sauce is also good. It's a little sweet, but not unpleasantly sweet. It's smooth and smooth, and goes well with the batter of the kushikatsu. It also has a fruity taste that doesn't feel too heavy, which is typical of Fried food. I also ordered "[b:Pickled ginger]", "[b:Quail]", and two skewers of "[b:Kushikatsu pork]". I love fried quail. Kushikatsu pork is a classic among classics, and I'm happy that it feels the most comfortable. I also ordered two skewers of "[b:Beef fillet]" and "[b:Tarako]". With the game going well, I couldn't help but splurge on the special skewers. I ended up finishing with some cod roe. Yes, it was a good game. Oh, no. It was a good kushikatsu. I quickly paid the bill and headed home before the man found me. Thank you for the meal. It is a restaurant I rarely visit alone. There is something wonderful about stuffing your mouth with a piping hot skewer of kushikatsu. At a nearby table, for some reason, even though there were only three customers, they were ordering 40 to 50 skewers at once. I think it would be a waste to let them go cold, but I guess everyone has their own circumstances. Maybe they have a sensitive tongue, or maybe they have happiness to accumulate. 地元民として、ある意味、敬意を表して。

久々に利用してみた。

いや、この西池袋店に限らず、何度も飲んで串を頬張ったコトはある。
個人的には積極的に選ぶ店ではなかったのだが、誘われれば普通に訪問したし、それなりに満足した。

でも、そういうコトとは別で、串カツ田中を応援したくなり、微力ならが…という感じである。


昨今、新型コロナウィルスの影響で、飲食店は大きな打撃を受けている。
個人経営店など、ホントに大変だという話をよく耳にし、目にする。
でも、大きな力を持っているチェーン店でも、同様に大変だろう。

この串カツ田中、全店自粛がいち早く行われた。
結果論では何とでも言えるだろうが、やはり一番大事な時期に、早々に対応したコトを評価したい。

池袋西武やパルコより、１週間早く池袋東武やルミネは対応したり、そういうコトは地元ではよく覚えている。
営業継続を選ぶ店、時短営業をしている店、完全自粛した店、いろいろな意見も評価もあると思う。
でも、その後の、その店を見る目というのは、各々の胸に刻まれたに違いない。


この串カツ田中、大金星、フタマタ、ふじ屋と４店並んで居酒屋がある場所である。
ふじ屋以外は、弁当やテイクアウト商品を並べ、ランチ時など賑わっている。
あっ、…賑わっちゃ、ダメか？(笑)

近くの御仁と、事務所メシ用に購入して食べた。


「唐揚げ弁当」(550円)　――　写真の通り。

ひたすら、唐揚げだけの弁当である。
マカロニサラダと生姜が添えられているが、ほぼ唐揚げである。

その唐揚げ、串カツ風味といったらおかしいが、田中の串カツっぽい、甘い感じの衣なのである。
キメ細かい衣でない分、ややまったりとした味わいになるが、揚げ過ぎなぐらいカタめに揚げられているので、全体的な印象としては、サクカリに近い雰囲気である。

マヨの小袋が付いていて、ソレを浸けると、またジャンクな雰囲気になる。


「串カツ８本セット」(1,102円→800円)　――　写真の通り。

串カツセットは、牛・豚・鶏・ハムカツが２本づつと、肉系オンリーである。
唐揚げよりも、コチラの方が白メシが進む関西人である。

もちろん、田中のあのソースも付いてくる。
テイクアウトなら、２度づけ、３度づけ、もちろんOK。
何なら、メシにのっけて、ソースかけちゃってもイイ。

ごちそうさまでした。
