Born in Tottori Prefecture in 1981. After honing his skills at a famous restaurant in Tokyo for 13 years, he made a U-turn and opened his own business in Tottori City. Three years later, in 2016, it moved to its current restaurant, and just two years later, it was awarded two stars in the Michelin Guide Kyoto Osaka + Tottori 2019. He doesn't claim his background, but his way of being "everything on the plate" is what attracts many eaters who know the taste.
Food Enjoy the richness of seasonal ingredients in Japanese-style meal
The star ingredient of Sanin Japanese-style meal is, first and foremost, Matsuba crab in winter, but Mr. Mitsui serves Matsuba crab for only one month after the November ban. He does not rely on brands, but rather on ingredients that represent the four seasons rather than those that sell well. This has been his motto since the opening of the restaurant. The richness of the Sanin-Tottori region comes to the fore in each dish prepared with Kyoto cooking techniques, such as broiled barracuda in a bowl with the aroma of grilled barracuda, grilled sea bream with the sweetness of chestnuts from Tanba, and natural soft-shelled turtle in a small pot.

Although it is located in a corner of a downtown area where time seems to have stopped in the Showa era, the dignified atmosphere of the restaurant separates it from the hustle and bustle outside. In addition to the counter, there are private rooms, and it is loved for a variety of occasions, from family anniversaries to business dinners. The restaurant's antique and contemporary tableware is excellent, enhancing the visual appeal of the refined cuisine. In addition to local sake from within and outside the prefecture, it is also appreciated that they have a selection of wines from cool regions such as Champagne, Alsace, and Austria that go well with Japanese-style meal.
