This paper analyze the effect of overheads over capacity of downlink (DL) of orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA)-based on the IEEE802.16e mobile WiMAX system with and without overheads. The analysis focuses in particular on the impact of Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) as well as deriving an algorithm to determine the maximum numbers of subscribers that each specific WiMAX sector may support. An analytical study of the WiMAX propagation channel by using Cost-231 Hata Model is presented. Numerical results and discussion estimated by using Matlab to simulate the algorithm for different multi-users parameters.

The system capacity of 802.16j also investigated and evaluated to understanding how the relay architecture can lead to capacity increases in the downlink. An analytical study of the WiMAX propagation channel by using Cost-231 Hata Model is presented. This model performance in different frequency band, and also the SNR achieved under different frequency band. The useful bandwidth for WiMAX in downlink and calculation the maximum numbers of subscriber station (SS) based on traffic modelling also calculated. Numerical results and discussion highlight the effect of factors over WiMAX capacity; also we simulated the modeling for different system parameter and traffic cases to ease the mobile WiMAX planning using MATLAB. Keywords WiMAX capacity ; IEEE802.16j ; mobile WiMAX ; SNR ; Cost-231 Hata. I. Saeed Ahmed AL-Rashdy received the B.S degree in electronics and communication engineering from mosul university , mosul, Iraq, in 2000 and the M.S. degrees from Harbin Institute of Technology(HIT), Harbin, china, in 2010. He is now a Ph.D. candidate at Harbin Institute of Technology(HIT). He has currently focused on mobile wimax QoS, capacity estimation and call admission control (CAC).

Additionally, we investigate and evaluate the system capacity of 802.16j in order to understand how the relay architecture can lead to capacity increases in the downlink. An analytical study of the WiMAX propagation channel by using Cost-231 Hata Model is presented. This model performed in different frequency bands; the Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) is achieved under different frequency band as well. The useful bandwidth for WiMAX in the downlink helped us calculate the maximum numbers of subscriber station (SS) based on traffic modeling. Numerical results and discussion highlight the effect of factors over WiMAX capacity; we also simulated the modeling for different system parameters and traffic cases to ease the mobile WiMAX planning using MATLAB.
