The Blues took the lead through an Oliver Norwood own goal, but rode their luck at times as David McGoldrick missed a sitter to draw the Premier League basement boys level in the second-half.

With the Blades pushing forward, Hakim Ziyech made sure of the points in the second minute of stoppage time.

Meanwhile, City have a historic quadruple in their sights as they secured a 2-0 win at Everton thanks to late goals from Ilkay Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Southampton, who thrashed Bournemouth 3-0 in the quarter-finals, will face Leicester.

The Saints have struggled for form in the league with just one win in 12 matches, but will relish their tags as the FA Cup underdogs.

Leicester reached an FA Cup semi-final for the first time since 1982 thanks to a 3-1 victory over Manchester United.

A brace from Kelechi Iheanacho and a Youri Tielemans goal stunned Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side at the King Power Stadium.

The FA Cup semi-finals will take place at Wembley on the weekend of April 17-18.
