On being trained by The Hardy Boyz...

"Ladders are in my blood. The Hardy Boyz, from Cameron, North Carolina, it’s wild really. It’s kind of like the story already wrote itself.

"I was born there and my fondest memories were in a wrestling ring. I learned how to walk in a wrestling ring, so naturally as an adult I’m going to be better."

On if he’s spoken to Jeff Hardy since joining WWE...

"Very little. We crossed paths, but the main roster guys are doing there thing and we’re doing our thing in NXT."

On if WWE was always the end-goal..

"100 per cent. Ever since I started chasing this professionally. WWE was always the end-goal. It’s the be-all and end-all. It’s the pinnacle, I don’t care what you say, it’s the top.

"There is no higher destination. So why not go and reach the highest goals?"

On working with Shane ‘Hurricane’ Helms in IMPACT...

"The Hurricane was very influential in my career and teaching me professionally how to be a business person and not just a wrestler. How I should carry myself in the back so people are trying to fight me before we even get in the ring.

"Shane ‘Hurricane’ Helms was incredible. He looks out for me - he still looks out for me - if anyone has a problem they may need to stand back, that’s all I can say."

On if the influx of PWG guys to WWE helped him decide to joining the company...

"For sure. When I went to PWG, all those guys were there at that time. That was like the place you wanted to go to if you wanted to be the best. So I showed up there and then all those guys got taken away.

"I held it down there for a little bit, but now it was my turn to come here and run with those guys that I know I can run with.

"It makes it a little better knowing I’ve interacted and worked with these guys, I’ve wrestled these guys. It does naturally make it a little easier, but I’m ready for whatever. It doesn’t matter"

On competing for the Million Dollar title...

"Never, ever, ever did I imagine this happening. Never did I think I’d be wrestling for the Million Dollar championship. Then also, at the same time, I never imagined that I would be a millionaire!

"Five years ago I was scratching and clawing trying to make a name for myself in this business and now here I am wrestling for the Million Dollar championship that hasn’t been in this business for, what, 20 years now? And I’m only 27 years old.

"So you see the age there, here’s a fact: Ted DiBiase’s last wrestling match, I wasn’t even born yet! Two months later, Cameron Grimes is born."

On if he wants Ted DiBiase as his manager..

"The benefit of being a millionaire or a Million Dollar Man is, you haven’t got to work for nobody! Ted’s retired. Ted’s got a nice thing set-up. If Ted wants to come out and accompany me as I’m the Million Dollar champion, I would love that. I would absolutely love that.

"But I’m not going to make a retired man go to work, you know what I mean?! There’s certain things you just don’t ask of people!"
