Top-Down viewpoint

In a recent Iwata Asks Interview, (http://iwataasks.nintendo.com/interviews/#/3ds/a-link-between-worlds/0/3) Aonuma stated that Link and the Rupees in ALBW are set at an angle so the player can see Link and other characters' faces. Is this true in Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks as well? Can someone use a camera tool to check, please? It won't count as TECHNICALLY unused, but I'd say it's odd enough to include. I haven't tried using a camera tool, but from what I can tell, the DS games do NOT use the trick. I think it's because there are many cutscenes in full 3D. ALBW, on the other hand, mostly confines itself to top-down view, and it's really obvious that the world is slanted when you wall-merge. WhoIAm (talk) 03:36, 15 January 2015 (EST)

Debug Map Select

Yesterday I found the map select file of Phantom Hourglass in the /Map:

/Map/courselist.clb ZCLB (Map Select file) - Map Select List

/Map/maptex.narc

/Map/maptex_child.narc

/Map/vr01.nsbmd (VrBox 3D model)

/Map/vr01.nsbtx (VrBox textures) I do not remember seeing this...

Unused Text

According to BRIE on YouTube there is some dialogue that you can only see with by hacking the game (i.e. with 'moon jump' Action Replay codes). I've taken a screenshot of the comment just in-case it disappears. --Hiccup (talk) 12:39, 20 December 2014 (EST)

Confirmed! If you moon jump over the spikes, you can talk to Linebeck. Text is slightly different, he says "How did you get this far, anyway?". I did it on a flashcard, but I'll try to get Desmume shots later. WhoIAm (talk) 03:34, 15 January 2015 (EST)
Also why did you get banned? I'm not familiar with the drama around here. WhoIAm (talk) 03:35, 15 January 2015 (EST)

unused warp symbols

i found 5 different unused (sort of) warp symbols that all lead to the same frog location and all seem to be shaped like letters. english character curiously enough.

the first one i found was one that looked like a P this and the other four take you to the southern warp point in the south eastern sea.

the other four were one tht that looks exactly like an R, another that is an D, one that looks like a backwards P or a 9, the last one is a B but must be drawn very specifically, i wish i could show you how but as of now i have no way of doing that.

i think these might be in reference to a staff member at NoA's innitials. the possible 9 may also mean it is in reference to an age maybe it's a staff member's kid's 9th birthday when ever he coded it or the game came out. B+D could stand for birthday. plus the usual symbol is a basic horshoe which could mean a u whoever kids initials are R.P, R.U.P, U.R.P, P.R, P.U.R, or U.P.R happy late birthday.

in addition there is another unused one for the same sea but the northern warp point this one looks like a question mark without the dot and with out curves every line should be straight.

if anyone has any information about this please reply?

  • all symbols can be used in game without the need of codes.
