Is MS Places available on Outlook Mac?
Hi there, one of our Mac Users has a problem adding MS Places on the left app bar in Outlook. However, in the MS Teams App he can add it just fine. What could the issue be? MS Places is seemingly still in PRE Phase, is it even currently available for Outlook on Mac? Thanks in advance!Newest Outlook version doesn't open pdf in Acrobat
My Outlook was updated to the newest version a few days ago and I'm having issues with opening PDF attachments in my default PDF viewer. Before, you could click the attachment in the email and get a preview but if you were to fully open the attachment it would open in my default application. When I click on it I get this viewer instead of it going directly to Adobe PDF. If I have to download it, I would prefer to save it as a location that I choose. I can go to Acrobat and open the downloaded files, but that is extra steps. Any suggestions?
Logging into outlook.com
Hi Is anyone else stuck in a redirect loop on outlook.com? I go to outlook.com, enter my email address and password. The blue envelope pops up, sits there for a few seconds, and then redirects to https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-365/outlook/email-and-calendar-software-microsoft-outlook I then click on one of the login links/buttons and do the same and it ends up back in the same place. Sometimes I will get a 403 (which is weird!), and then some other times it will log into my email, so the credentials are ok, and the account is not locked. This has only started to happen in the last couple of weeks. I have tried clearing all website data, loading incognito and the same thing happens in both cases. Anyone else experiencing this? Tony
Major Issues with Recent Update *New Outlook Desktop
You have Microsoft Outlook Version 1.2024.1002.100 (Production). Client Version is 20241004002.11. Favorites section of folder pane has completely disappeared. Yes, I have 'Show favorites' selected - was perfectly fine in previous version. There is some sort of memory leak or memory issue that was not occuring previously. Have to force exit the Outlook desktop app every 20-30 minutes as it freezes and uses ~80% of cpu memory. It is adding an extra linebreak to new messages when there is no linebreak that exists in my signature.
Anyone else hate the New Desktop Outlook?.
Hello people I was wondering if anyone else Hated the Desktop version of Outlook?. To me its slower and unresponsive compared to previous versions. Even Windows Mail was faster and the brings up old email accounts that you deleted and no longer use long ago. It seems while good intentions this one has not been tested properly. Just shoved out the door. And lastly trying to find Emails that your sent or received is another nightmare. You have to restart twice before it finally decides oh look there emails.

I have a dilemma that I can't seem to resolve. I hope that by posting here, someone will recognize the problem and help me fix it or at least point me in the right direction. Delegate: On On-premises Manager: On On-premises Issue: The Delegate can create meeting invites and check the Manager's emails from her Outlook client without issues. However, the Manager is not able to see any new meetings after the Delegate creates them. Research/Investigation: The Manager experiences no problems on his mobile device because none of those are using cache mode. He can see the newly created meeting invites, etc. However, he cannot see them on his laptop and desktop. The issue occurs when the Delegate's Outlook connects to Exchange as it should. The Manager's Outlook also connects to Exchange as it should. However, when the Delegate clicks/selects the Manager's mailbox/calendar items from within her Outlook client, it shows "Connecting to Online" instead of "Exchange". Verification and Confirmation: All permissions are set correctly. Able to replicate the issue at other workstations. Followed all Microsoft suggested solutions. The big question now is: What causes the Delegate's Outlook client to connect to "Online" when selecting the Manager's mailbox/calendar items in her Outlook client when it should be connected to "Exchange"? And how do you fix that?I need to return to my classic Outlook. I need to turn off new toggle. I can't. Help
I obviously am not computer literate but I must get back to the classic Outlook. I have had my company email for years and it has the name of our company. The directions to get from the new Outlook to the classic are confusing. Please help if you can. Thanks
Using msal4j trying to send email (SMTP with OAUTH2) fails
I am trying to write a Java server application that should send emails using my account with msal4j. I have tried to find solutions online but all sources are either pointing to very old solutions and Microsoft seem to propose only using MSAL so I try to do this with OAUTH2 authentication and send with Jakarta.mail. I always end up with the error 535 5.7.3 Authentication unsuccessful (details below). What have I missed? Hello, I've been trying to add a calendar on outlook web for one of our users & getting "Calendar already exists" Error. It's not on the list of calendars/remove calendar list have tried removing users permission to the sahred mailbox & re-adding after 24 hours, however the issue still remains https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/outlook/this-calendar-already-exists-when-adding-calender-from-directory/m-p/2373684 It works fine on outlook app. I have also tried this with a second user but getting the same error I can add it to the admin outlook web. it's just the users that are affected has anyone come across this issue & managed to fix it? I accidentally (Saturday 5/4/2024) deleted my hotmail account and am desperately looking for a way to get it back, preferably with content. It went as follows: In account settings, > your details > Manage your email address or phone number for login > I initially added my business email address under account aliases Next, I set my business address as the primary alias. Then I deleted my email, not knowing that it would mean deleting my account completely. I can't log in to my hotmail account anymore. Please can you help me to restore my email account
Display the next email after deleting an email in it's own window?
In MS 365 Outlook MSO (Version 2408), when I double click on an email in my inbox to display the email in it's own window, when I click on the "delete" garbage can in that window, it deletes the email then closes the window. Swapping verification email address
Hi there I have been locked out of one of my older outlook accounts and unfortunately I use this account as the one to verify my main outlook account. I have tried many times to get it unlocked thought the online procedure with no success. It is possible to make a new outlook account and then swap the verification email to the new account?Custom fields - Outlook Contacts not showing
I used to create customized fields for outlook contact 'cards' with no problem. They were visible in all views, etc. Today I tried to add custom fields to contacts and can only get them to show up in "List View". When I add text to these custom fields in list view they are visible. When I open and view a single contact, the custom fields are not visible. I can click on "All Fields" under Show, and then they appear. Long story short - how can I have my custom fields be visible on "People" or "Business Card" view when viewing all contacts, or in "General" view when I open a specific contact. Is there a certain program I can use to publish a new contact form and install to Outlook?How to view 2 weeks in new calendar
This was so easy in the old calendar. All I did was hold the CTRL button and highlight the days I needed to view, I would then be able to see 2 weeks on my screen and all the details of each day within that 2 week timeframe. I have tried everything in the new outlook and cannot figure out how to do this. Please help??? Hi: I have had multiple domains and email addresses feeding into Gmail for about 20 years. And all that time I have used Outlook desktop (current version is 2021) as my email client with a POP connection. As of 4/20/2025 that connection quit working due to POP login/password being a "less secure sign in technology". It looks like I can configure two factor authentication, which would be OK for Outlook, but a royal pain when viewing mail via my iPhone all day long. If there is another option, I would like to avoid that. Searching for options, I see that I can use IMAP, but I may or may not need OAUTH2. Searching more I see posts that say that OAUTH2/POP can be configured but other versions that says it will not work in Outlook 2021. That's the problem with the internet. So many statements are both true and false at the same time. I see that a lot of other people are now having problems with Outlook connecting to Gmail. I can't find a concrete solution anywhere. Ideally, I would like to retain the POP3 connection and data (about 50K emails moved all over by many Outlook rules I would like to retain). So, is there a good solution? What would be the steps? Hi, I just downloaded the new Outlook app to try and I don't see a way to collapse all groups nor could I find anything in the help menu. Is this not possible with the new version? I have a lot of email in my accounts so this is concerning and I'm hoping that I'm just missing something. Since this will likely be a mandatory upgrade I would like to know. Thanks in advance.
