Cadillac continues to push advanced engine technologies with the introduction of the twin turbocharged V6 engine for the upcoming top of the line Cadillac CT6 sedan. The all-new engine displaces 3.0 liters and is capable of producing 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque from 2,500 rpm.

The turbos are mounted on the outside of the V6 block, and not in the valley of the V. The water-to-air intercooler and a single throttle body sit up top to allow for a more consistent and quick power delivery. This engine has many more tricks up its sleeve. It uses cylinder deactivation and start/stop system to maximize efficiency.

This 3.0L twin-turbo V6 shares many of the technologies with the 3.6L TT motor in the Cadillac ATS-V. The company says that this new engine is also designed for a high level of refinement with quieter and smoother operation. The 3.0-liter will be paired with the 8-speed automatic transmission in the CT6.

Wouldn’t a version of this engine be great for the sixth generation Chevy Camaro? Also, if Cadillac wanted to give this engine a nickname or marketing name. What should it be?  Let us know in the comments.
