Features of Monos Luggage
Monos luggage is a premium luggage brand that offers a variety of different products. Based in Vancouver, Canada, they pride themselves on high-quality parts and materials.
Firstly, the company is Climate Neutral Certified, which means that the company has net-zero carbon emissions. Monos was the first luggage brand to do so.
Secondly, the customer service experience is unparalleled. All bags come with a 100-day trial period and lifetime warranty on parts. This is comforting, because when you’re spending a significant amount on a carry-on bag, you want it to last for a long time. Monos will definitely last for a while, which is nice.
Thirdly, all of the hardside bags, whether you’re purchasing a carry-on suitcase or checked bag are made with water-resistant, German Makrolon polycarbonate material. This is a lightweight, aerospace-grade that is extremely hard to break. In other words, it’s made of good material.
Fourthly, all bags come with accessories. Typically, this consists of some bacteria-resistant laundry bags, an imitation leather, vegan leather luggage tag, and a scratch-eraser sponge.
Lastly, Monos luggage comes in a variety of different materials, colors, and sizes. They offer a large selection of carry-ons (including a bigger carry-on and a carry-on plus). In addition, they also offer a check-in medium and a check-in large bag.
Features of Away Luggage
Away luggage has taken over the luggage world, mainly due to its built-in battery charger. Like Monos, they also offer a variety of different luggage options – all high-quality and extremely durable.
Firstly, Away prides itself on being a company that takes ease of transport, durability, organizing ability, security, and reliability all into consideration.
Secondly, like Monos, most Away products have a 100-day trial period. This means you have 100 calendar days to use an item and return it, if you are not satisfied. Again, this is really comforting when you’re splurging on an Away bag.
Thirdly, Away offers both a softside and hardside luggage option. The Away carry-on has a durable outer shell, 360-degree rotating wheels, interior compartments such as packing cubes and a removable battery charger that is TSA approved.
Fourthly, each piece of luggage (no matter the style you buy) comes with a black leather luggage tag and leather detailing.
Lastly, just like Monos, Away luggage features a variety of carry-on styles as well as larger bags that can be checked. One of the more popular bags is the Daily Carry-On that features a pocket, perfect for a minimalist’s storage.

What is the difference between Monos vs Away?
Monos vs Away luggage – which is best for you and your travel needs? This can be a challenging decision because there are so many similarities between the two luggage companies. However, at the end of the day, there are a few main differences to consider.
If you’re looking for a specific exterior design, then Monos is your best bet. Away offers a few different colors, but the design is pretty straight forward…some even say it’s just too plain. However, Monos offers a variety of different colors with a more sleek, stylish design. The look of a Monos suitcase feels more modern than an Away piece of luggage.
As far as quality, the general consensus is that Monos offers a bit better quality than an Away suitcase. Many agree that Monos offers a more sturdy, durable handle as well as wheels.
Moreover, Monos offers a more well-designed inside. The compartments are in the perfect spots. Seriously, they’re just what you need to fit miscellaneous items such as socks and hygiene products. The Away suitcase does not offer as many pouches and compartments.
Another big difference is if you’re wanting a portable battery charger or not. As mentioned above, the Away suitcase features a charger while the Monos suitcase does not.
Therefore, it really depends on what your traveling needs are. Both suitcases are well designed and feature high-quality materials. They will both last you for a long time. However, if you’re wanting a more modern, sleek design with a more organized inside – go with Monos. If you’re set on buying a battery charger or are wanting a more simple, durable outside – go with Away.
Is the Away bag worth it?
I have owned an Away carry-on luggage for about three years now. It’s lasted me numerous Europe trips, US trips, and even some road trips. I’ve never had an issue with it. In fact, it’s been extremely durable and trustworthy. I was originally drawn to the battery pack option – but actually haven’t used that as much as I thought I would.
As far as actually flying with it, I’ve never had any problems with it not fitting in the overhead bins or any overhead compartment at all. It’s been great!
Regardless, I would recommend the Away suitcase to anyone! Seriously, it’s worth the splurge!!
Are Monos suitcases worth it?
Yes!! Monos is an up and coming boutique luggage company that is definitely worth the splurge. Personally, I love that they have so many different types of options. For example, they not only have a one-size carry on, but also a carry-on plus and carry-on pro plus. Both meet the requirements for a carry-on bag.
It’s durable, well-made and the inside compartment is unparalleled to any other suitcase company.
What is the price of Away?
Away suitcases range from $225 (their carry-on option) up to $645 (their large, aluminum edition option). It also depends if you decide to personalize your bag or purchase a battery pack or pack replacement.
What is the price of Monos?
Monos suitcases range from $281 (regular carry-on option) up to $400 (large checked bag). However, most of their suitcases are on sale right now! So, go get one while supplies last! I’m never one to miss a sale.
Conclusion: Monos vs Away
Well, hopefully this informational article helped you decide which boutique luggage company to go with. We really only have positive things to say about each, so you really can’t go wrong with either Monos or Away for all your travel needs. Personally, we prefer Monos! Happy traveling!
