Got in on a Sunday evening for tent camping. Nice woman working the entrance let us switch campsites without any hassle.
The site was well maintained and had a nice fire pit. Concrete picnic table in the space.
A little hard to find at first. GPS will take you to a service road as the entrance, actual entrance is on the other side of the lake just before The Boat House Bar.
Came in really late without a reservation but they have a self check in. Small cards next to check in booth. I recommend snagging an RV site. The price is the same and it’s way better. Tent camping area was really muddy. I only brought a hammock but could easily fit six tents on my site alone. Roads and facilities are in great shape. Constant hot water.
Didn’t really enjoy this place. It smelt weird throughout, and just didn’t seem to be well kept at all.
Nothing fancy but it’ll do. We needed a place to sleep for the night and ended up here by accident.
People were okay, prices were higher than expected. Seemed just well enough.
I tried so hard to find this place but it was impossible. Gave up after an hour : / One day!
Staff and other campers were great. Even had one staff member walk around and show me their favorite parts of the grounds.
Very clean sites and easy access.
I only camp with a hammock. I rarely use a tent unless I have too. The staff here hassled me a lot for not wanting to use a tent. I explained to them how much more comfortable and easy it is to use yet they insinuated that it’s not a “good look”.
Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Got some great hiking tips from my neighbors. Campground was clean and tidy. Very hammock friendly!
The check in process got kind of confusing. Our spot was just okay but that’s probably my fault for not booking sooner.
From the kind staff, to the well stocked general store.. my stay was great. Also, who can complain when you get private shower rooms!?
Let’s start this with the staff at check in… Being the unprepared person I am, I had no reservation. Luckily, the staff there got me a fantastic spot with no problems at all. Generally, I have a little issue because I like to hammock camp and most grounds require a tent be set up at least. They sorted me right out, with a view.
The grounds were well kept, bathrooms clean, and even had bear boxes for each site. Hard to complain. I do wish they had shower facilities on the grounds but I found some a few miles away. Felt super safe and confident in my stay there. I definitely recommend it for anyone visiting YNP.
