This slideshow features the characters from Pixar’s Cars movies. It is a fun way to review counting from 0-9. There are 16 different counting questions to review with your child. This would go perfectly with a transportation unit.
The TRANSPORTATION Beginning Letter Sounds slideshow features all of the major modes of transportation. Each slide focuses on a transportation vehicle and its beginning letter sound. This slideshow is an effective teaching tool for early learners. The great thing about these slideshows is the ability to review with your child right now. No prep, just click. Our Car Colors Emergent Reader is ideal for preschoolers and kindergarten students learning their sight words. The sight words featured in this book are, “look, at, the, and car.”
To make a printable hand-held reader, print off 2 sheets to a page. You can fix this in your printers settings. Once printed, cut the sheets in half, compile book and staple. Great for little hands.
The emergent reader, Do you see the car?, is also a coloring activity book. This emergent reader is a perfect addition to any transportation unit. High frequency words, do, see, you, and the are featured in this reader. Repetitive sentence structure makes for easy reading and learning!
Print the PDF file 2 pages to a sheet and then cut in half, staple, and read! Have your child color each car the color in the sentence. “Do you see the red car?” gives the child the cue to color the car red.
My first son loved Hot Wheel cars and transportation in general. I remember having him sort Hot Wheel cars by color using different colored construction paper on the floor. He would drive the cars to their color parking lot. The red cars were driven to the red parking lot, the green cars to the green parking lot, and so on.
You can easily increase the skill level by asking questions like, “Which color of cars has the most? least?” This is an effective way to compare sets of numbers also. You can easily line each set of colored cars in a line next to each other- almost like a visual bar graph. Ask your student questions like, “How many more green are there than red?” Talk them through the answer. Effective activity if you have the Hot Wheels on hand. Out of all the Transportation Printables & Activities, this one is my favorite!
Educational video for children teaching them vocabulary related with land, water and air transport. This video includes means of transport like the bicycle, the car, the bus, the boat, the submarine, the airplane, the helicopter, the rocket and lots more.
Bus Video by Blippi YouTube Video
Blippi is high energy! Blippi takes his viewers on a tour of a city bus. As an adult, you may find Blippi a little much, but younger kids seem to love his silliness and find him authentic. He provides a wealth of information in his videos that you and your child may otherwise never see or experience on your own. Thank you Blippi!
