Great Tour Guide and Tour

We met early-7:30a.m.- outside Vatican museums with our guide Lisa. The group was larger than I expected and included 2 babies who wanted to be anyplace but in strollers in the rain ( or the museums).Lisa got us all through security and then conducted an informative tour, patiently waiting out the crying children. She got us through the highlights of the museums, and into St Peter’s via the Sistine Chapel. Maybe because of the rain- the museums did not seem overwhelmingly crowded. Would love to go back with a little more time but as Lisa pointed out, it would take 2 weeks to take in every object and art work. She did a great job- hats off!

Wonderful Informative Tour

Our tour guide Rosella was incredible. She spoke to us for over 3 straight hours about the history of the Vatican. She is incredibly knowledgeable and made this an unforgettable experience. If you are touring the Vatican I highly recommend this guided tour as it can be overwhelming without a guide.

I would highly recommend the Roman Guy, well organized and had small groups, and the guide was amazing and very knowledgeable. Worth the money and time especially if you have less time.

Vatican Tour Experience

The number of people in our small group helped maintain connections, but the sheer volume of people on the Vatican campus at the same time was overwhelming for everyone. The tour leader was very knowledgeable and professional but was guilty of information overload. A great example of tone-deaf teaching. Rule #1.. get to know your audience. Apparently, each tour guide is required to lay the foundation for the Sistine Chapel visit before arrival. For the Catholics, it must have seemed like a sermon. For those, like myself, just wishing to experience the architecture and contents of the Vatican, it was painful. In hindsight, getting inside the doors and walking about on my own would have been a far more positive experience...and I appreciate I will be in the minority with that view. All in all, the experience with the TourGuy process was EXCELLENT.

Exceptional amd Unforgettable!!!

The whole experience was absolutely incredible! Our guide was a Roman local who was very animated and knowledgeable. She was passionate in her storytelling and explanations of the history. She would often tell jokes and seemed to really try to make everyone have a wonderful time. Would definitely do it again in the future.

The Rome tours are fantastic!

We booked four tours with the Tour Guy - two were in Rome and two were in Florence. The two in Rome were fantastic. The guides were engaged, interesting and dynamic. They both had an incredible depth of knowledge and did a great job with our groups. The two tours in Florence were outsourced (?) to other companies. The guides were knowledgeable, but not nearly as good as the guides we had in Rome. One guide was very soft spoken, didn't use a microphone and rushed off immediately. The other guide was better, but had a schedule she was keeping to and kept looking at her watch, it was really distracting.

Amazing guide and experience

Couldn’t have asked for a better tour. This wasn’t our first Vatican museum tour but it was by far the best we’ve ever had. Very knowledgeable and passionate guide.

Excellent Tour

This tour was well worth the time and money. The instructions to meet the guide were clear and entry was quick and easy. The guide really knew her stuff and was very thorough but kept the pace moving. I would not try to navigate these sites without a guide and would absolutely recommend this company based on our experience.

Our tour was well organized. Check in was easy and we were on time. Our guide was knowledgeable and spoke English exceptionally well. Highly recommend.

Wonderful tour, unclear provided by third party

We had a great time on this tour with our guide Lorena who was engaging, knowledgeable and passionate. The info she provided was interesting and delivered with a sense of humour which made the experience very enjoyable. She was also attentive to the group’s needs, generally ensuring we stuck together among the crowds, and provided time for a quick drink and loo break. In all, a great experience. The only downside was that there was no mention of the tour being provided by a third party at the time of booking or in the confirmation emails (it was only mentioned in the voucher) and this led to stress and confusion at the meeting point as we were looking for the wrong tour operator. Also there was no mention in any emails or the voucher about being sent the actual tickets to scan to access the museums via WhatsApp.
