🎅From 23rd November - 5th January, enjoy eco-friendly and conservation themed festive activities at the zoo this Christmas! Meet the 1000’s of incredible animals that live there, and enjoy exclusive festive crafts, animal talks, pop up Santa, sparkling decorations, letters to Santa, and so much more for the whole family!
London Zoo is set in leafy Regent's Park in the heart of the capital and is the perfect day out for all of the family in search of animals of all shapes and sizes.
The zoo has over 15,000 animals for you to observe and learn about. Two of the must-see experiences at the Zoo are with the Big Cats:
Land of the Lions is where you can get up close the stunning Asiatic Lions, of which only 400 remain the wild. The Indian themed 2,500sqm exhibit has walkways allowing you to explore and spot these magnificent creatures.
Tiger Territory is where the Sumatran tigers live, this area is based on their natural Indonesian habitat. Tiger Territory gives the opportunity to observe the animals and understand the conservation issues these fantastic cats face in the wild.
Two new areas were opened in 2021 to give new opportunities to see some of the smaller and not so small, stranger species at the Zoo:
Giants of the Galapagos is the new home of 3 Galapagos giant female tortoises, Dolly, Polly and Priscilla, so be sure to check out their new warm Galapagos inspired abode.
Tiny Giants is a celebration of all things small but mighty. This is the land of the creepy crawlies, mini beasts and coral reef and one that is always a favourite with the kids who want to learn more about ants, spiders and beetles to name but a few. Tiny Titans is also home to a brand new coral reef tank and 7m aquarium where you will find schools of Clown fish and Blue Tang.
You can still visit some of the Zoo's favourite residents, the Humboldt Penguins can be found ducking and diving down at Penguin Beach, the Giraffe House is an opportunity to get up close to these gentle giants or you have Gorilla Kingdom which transports you to the African Rainforest where you will meet a family of Gorillas and many more of the primate family.
If you and your flock get peckish there is an abundance of choice of where to pick up some refreshments including; The Terrace Restaurant, Beach Hut, Amreli Street, Aquarium Kiosk and the Peckish Parrot Café.
