Keen battle on cards in Malegaon Outer seat
Nashik: A close battle is expected in Malegaon Outer assembly segment in Nashik district between Shiv Sena leader and district guardian minister Dada Bhuse and Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Advay Hiray in the state poll.
Bhuse has represented the seat since 2004. He sided with chief minister Eknath Shinde when the Shiv Sena split.
Malegaon Outer assembly segment is part of Dhule parliamentary constituency.
In the 2024 Lok Sabha poll, Mahayuti's candidate from Dhule constituency Subhash Bhamre received a sizeable number of votes from Malegaon Outer seat.
Hiray, who was in jail for almost nine months in the alleged loan fraud scam in Nashik District Central Co-operative Bank, was granted bail by Bombay high court last month. He has been meeting people in his constituency.
He claimed that party chief Uddhav Thackeray recently announced his candidature for the poll from Malegaon Outer assembly constituency.
"I have started meeting people and am confident about winning. There is a positive mood among voters about Maha Vikas Aghadi, and it will definitely win over 200 seats," Hiray added.
