PATNA: Keeping in view the rush of students seeking admission to various undergraduate-level vocational courses, Patliputra University (PPU) has sought renewal of approval of seats from the government for the vocational courses being taught in the varsity's colleges located in Patna and Nalanda districts of the state. The university has decided to maintain transparency in admission to vocational courses.
According to PPU registrar Prof Jitendra Kumar, the city-based A N College has 150 seats in Bachelor of Business Management (BBM), Bachelor in Computer Science (BCA)-120 seats, Bachelor in Environment and Water Management (BEWM) - 60 seats, BSc Biotech (80 seats), BSc IT (90 seats) and Bachelor in Library Science (BLis) - 90 seats, while B D College will have 90 seats each in BBM and BCA, 60 seats each in BSc IT, BSc Biotech and BLis. B S College, Danapur will have 90 seats in BCA, and 60 seats each in BBM, BSc IT, BSc Biotechnology, BLis and Bachelor in Travel and Tourism Management (TTM), he said.
College of Commerce, Arts and Science will have 120 seats in BCA, BBM (150), and 90 seats each in BSc IT, BSc Biochemistry and BLis. On the other hand, J D Women's College is to start with 120 seats each in BCA and BBM and 60 seats in Blis, while Ganga Devi Mahila College will have 60 seats each in BCA, BBM and B Lis (120). JN Lal College, Khagaul, will start with 60 seats each in BCA, BSc Biotechnology and BSc IT, while Mahila College, Khagaul is to start with 60 seats each in BCA and BBM, the PPU registrar said.
According to PPU's Dean of Students' Welfare Prof A K Nag, Arvind Mahila College will have 60 seats each in BCA, BBM and BLis and TPS College will start with 60 seats in BBA, BCA (120) and BSc Biotech (60). Similarly, AN S College, Barh will have 60 seats each in BCA, BBM, BSc IT, BSc Biotechnology and Blis, while G J College, Bihta is to start with 90 seats in BCA, 60 seats each in BBM, BSc IT and BLis, he said, adding M D College, Naubatpur, will have 60 seats in BCA.
Kisan College, Sohsarai, M M College, Bikram, R S L Y College, Bakhtiyarpur, RPM College, Patna City, R K D College, Kankarbagh, S M D College, Punpun, Guru Gobind Singh College, Patna City, Government Women's College, Gardanibagh, Rajkiya Mahila Mahavidhyalaya, Gulzarbagh, Nalanda Mahila College and Government Degree College, Rajgir are the other PPU colleges which are to start vocational courses with the number of seats approved by the university, the DSW said.
