Megablock at Dombivli station: No special trains; commuters fume

KALYAN: Dombivli railway station was packed with hundreds of passengers on Wednesday morning due to four-hour megablock by the Central Railway on Dombivli-Kalyan section for launching girders for the new FOB at Thakurli railway station.
Platform was fully packed as two trains at 8.30am and 9.30am got cancelled and commuters claimed that till 10.30am no special train was running between Dombivli to CST due to which people, who were working in a private company and did not have any holiday on Christmas, suffered.

Angry mob even gheroed deputy station master's office and asked him for the reason for not running special train promised by Central Railway.
Meanwhile, Central Railway ran special trains at 10.10am and 10.30am that gave some relief to the commuters waiting for train to reach their destination. Shivaji Sutar, chief public relation officer of Central Railway said, "We have already run two special trains and in sometime some more special trains will be run."

KDMT (Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Transport) is running 20 special buses between Kalyan and Dombivli to facilitate commuters during megablocks between Kalyan and Dombivli stations.
Due to megablocks there were no train services from 9.45am to 10.45am during which many trains have been cancelled and some long distance trains have been diverted.
