The CBSE has announced that practical exams and internal assessments for Classes 10 and 12 in winter-bound schools will take place from November 5 to December 5, 2024. Schools must finalize the list of candidates, appoint external examiners through regional offices, and submit completed exam answer books to the regional offices on time.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a notice regarding the practical examinations and internal assessments for students of Classes 10 and 12 in winter-bound schools. According to the notice, the practical examinations will be conducted from November 5, 2024, to December 5, 2024, as these schools will remain closed in January 2025.The practical examinations for other schools will be held from January 1, 2025.
The official notice reads, ‘The Practical Examination/Projects/Internal Assessment for the session 2024-25 for classes X and XII for winter-bound schools will be conducted from November 5, 2024 (Tuesday) to December 5, 2024 (Thursday). Please find attached the SOPs and Guidelines for conducting the Practical Examination/Project/Internal Assessments in winter-bound schools.’
As per the official notice, all the schools following the winter-bound sessions are required to take the following actions:

Prepare the final list of candidates and ensure that no student of the school whose name has not been submitted in the online LOC to the Board is allowed to appear for these practical examinations/projects/Internal Assessments.
Contact the Regional Office for the appointment of external examiner observers.
Ensure timely completion of Practical Examination/Project Work/Internal Assessment and dispatch Practical examination answer books to the regional offices.
