Don't get surprised when I wear a veshti: Dhanush

Dhanush���s favourite attire these days when it comes to public functions seems to be the veshti and shirt. When most youngsters today ditch traditional clothes for the more modern and westernized garb, the actor���s penchant for turning up in conventional fashion is heartening. At the promo of his latest movie in Chennai, Dhanush was spotted in a pattu veshti and shirt.
When quizzed about his look, the actor responded, ���It���s only when I am not wearing the veshti that people should get surprised. I wonder when people ask me why I am wearing it. I am a Tamilian, and I don���t need any special occasion or reason to wear a veshti. This is my identity. And I love flaunting it. I am very comfortable wearing it. Wearing authentic traditional clothes makes me feel good. So, next time when I wear a veshti, please don���t get surprised.���
He keeps it simple, and says, ���Definitely, I am not wearing it to make a style statement.��� At a recent awards function, actor Madhavan, who was heavily sweating in western wear, said in jest, ���Now, I understand why Dhanush chose to come in a veshti.���
