CHENNAI: The Chennai hockey fans will get a taste of Indo-Pak rivalry as they look forward to an international event in the city after 16 years.
Pakistan confirmed on Monday morning that they will send their team for the Asian Champions Trophy to be held in Chennai from August 3-12.
China, too, confirmed their participation on Sunday evening, and that will mean the top six Asian teams will be seen in action — hosts India, defending champions
South Korea, Malaysia, Japan the others.
“They (Pakistan and China) were to inform us about their plans by April 25 and we’re happy that their nod has come,”
Tamil Nadu hockey unit president Sekar J Manoharan said.
