6 tourist destinations to become more accessible once Noida International Airport opens
As reported earlier, Noida International Airport (NIA) is gearing up to start operations from April 17, 2025, which will make air travel hassle free for people in many ways. Further, with the opening of the airport, travel to some of North India’s most iconic tourist destinations will become much easier to access. Located in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, the NIA’s strategic positioning near the Yamuna Expressway will reduce travel times to several popular spots, making it an ideal entry point for tourists. To sort your 2025 travel places, here are six must-visit destinations that will be more reachable once the airport opens.

Agra
Agra is one of the most visited towns in India. Home to the famed Taj Mahal, Agra is on the travel wishlist of Indians as well as foreign tourists. The opening of NIA would drastically cut down on the time it takes for travellers to get to Agra from Noida. While from Delhi Airport, travel till Agra usually takes around 4 hours, whereas from NIA the travel time will be cut down to 2 hours.

Mathura
Mathura, revered as the birthplace of Lord Krishna, is a city of profound religious and cultural importance. A major pilgrimage site, it draws millions of devotees and visitors each year. Previously, Delhi Airport was the nearest major airport to Mathura. However, with the inauguration of the Noida International Airport (NIA), the travel time to Mathura will be reduced to just about 90 minutes. This development will make it significantly easier for tourists to reach Mathura and experience its vibrant temples, serene ghats, and the iconic Holi celebrations.

Vrindavan
Vrindavan, a significant holy site near Mathura, is renowned for its connection to Lord Krishna's early life. Currently, traveling from Delhi International Airport to Vrindavan takes over three hours. However, with the upcoming launch of NIA operations, the travel time will reduce to under two hours, allowing visitors more time to explore the city's temples, ashrams, and other attractions.

Haridwar
Haridwar, one of the seven holiest places in India, is known for the Ganga Aarti and its sacred ghats. For those looking to explore spiritual sites and the Himalayan foothills, NIA will serve as a perfect starting point. The airport’s proximity to Haridwar will encourage more pilgrims and tourists to visit the city’s historic temples and spiritual events.

Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan, is celebrated for its stunning forts, grand palaces, and rich cultural heritage. Known as the Pink City, it attracts both domestic and international travelers. With the enhanced accessibility provided by NIA, visiting Jaipur will become significantly more convenient, especially for those who find traveling to Delhi Airport time-consuming.
