Leader of a band of Comanche Indians in the American Southwest in the
late 1800s, Parker was the son of a Comanche father and a white mother
who was a captive of his father's tribe. When he got older he led the
Comanches in their fight against Texas settlers, the U.S. Army and
Texas Rangers.
