- Reviewed in the United States on March 9, 2016Size: 10Color: Thyme/Black/OrangeVerified PurchaseI started a cross program and wanted some lighter shoes than the Merrell's I have been using. I tried these for the first time at class and they were fantastic. They grip the mat really well and provided good support biking and walking. They are definitely lighter than my other shoes, but not a barefoot feel. I was originally a little concerned about the sizing. I am a US 10 medium and ordered this size in this shoe. I wear no-see socks that are somewhat thick. When I put these on and the shoe, the shoe was tight in the toes and in some places on the side of my feet. I purchased some thinner no-sees and the shoes fit snug with these. The shoes will probably stretch with wear. Anyway, good shoe with my new socks.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 16, 2018These fit super snug though I probably bought a size too small. Super grippy. Only gripe is that the rope shields started to lift where the shoe bends and I have never used them as intended. Otherwise pretty good after 6 months although I only use them 3 times a week in the gym with a 1 mile walk there.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 30, 2017These are simply great minimalist running and training shoes. I had a similar pair several years ago, and so psyched to come back to these. I take out the insoles for an even better "barefoot" feel. These appear durable and I believe will hold up really well for CrossFit workouts and sprints. They breathe well, are incredibly light for how rugged they feel (sort of plastic cage around the midfoot). Only quibble is the bottom is a bit solid, so there's not much pavement feedback, even with the insoles removed. I believe that's a sacrifice for what should hold up a lot longer.
Love these shoes, and they look sharp to boot.
- Reviewed in the United States on October 25, 2016Size: 12.5Color: Thyme/Black/OrangeVerified Purchasethese are perfect for gym work or for HIIT. due to the lack of arch support I would stay away from distance running if you are new to minimalist footwear. they are super light and very comfortable, breath well and excellent traction on track and gym surfaces. I would like to see a little different lacing system, but that is personal preference. toe box is roomy even for a wider foot. excellent heel cup and nice secure fit. overall an excellent shoe.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 1, 2015Size: 10.5Color: Thyme/Black/OrangeVerified PurchaseSo it looks to be a great shoe, but they don't make a size that would fit me. I bought a 11 and it was very big...very wide and lots of room. From the feel, I was worried that if I wore it a couple of days, it would fall off. So, I returned it and got a 10.5. This teplacement size, however, was extremely tight and had a crinkle in the front for some reason. I don't know if that is normal, but I had to send it back. The size differences are extreme, but I would suggest going with the UK and Europeans sizes with these over the US sizing to match your feet. Also, if you wear several different sizes between brands, you may want to find a different manufacturer than inov-8.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 24, 2015I have never loved a shoe like I love this shoe. This is the ideal parkour and freerunning shoe: minimal padding, lightweight mesh top, single piece of rubber for the sole with just the right amount of grip.
I wore my last pair of these Inov-8 Bare-XF 210s so hard, that my big toe started poking through the bottom. I did NOT want to spend the $130 on these guys, especially when I had gotten them for $40 about 14 months prior on 6pm.com, but what do you know, they're worth every penny. I feel like I am in very firm control of my strides and precision jumps in these shoes.
Only cons would be that they don't do super well on wet cement, as I slipped in them (it was mostly my fault with bad technique; I was also still breaking them in). They also aren't so super sticky on strong plywood, which I sometime climb up in my parkour gym in Brooklyn, NY.
I have used KOs, New Balances and another custom martial arts shoe (solid rubber sole) and these are far and above my favorite. I recommend them to anyone and everyone who is interested in taking their athleticism to the next level. The shoes lasted about 9 months with regular to heavy use for me, and Inov-8 says they're good for 600 miles, which I don't think sounds like a lot, but again, my last pair lasted the better part of a year.
If these shoes were $40 again, I would literally buy 10 of them in my size and stockpile them, so that I never have to be without this shoe again.
Final note: I would have paid about $150 for the shoe on Amazon, but signing up for a free Prime membership trial dropped the price to $127, which is what pushed me over the edge and made me bite the bullet and buy the shoes during my same shopping session.
Well done, Inov-8. Please don't ever drop the 210s from your line, or give us a heads up if you do. And if you ever need me to take a pair of 10.5 UKs/11.5 U.S. off your hands for demo purposes, I will send you my address and my love.

She also had a knee problem when using typical shoes and no problems since she started wearing this, almost four years no issues, crossing fingers !
- Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2016Size: 10.5Color: Thyme/Black/OrangeVerified PurchaseI was very disappointed with these shoes. First of all, I expected to feel barefoot in these as the name implies, but it felt like a lot of shoe compared to my Merrell Trail Glove shoes. And they felt like boots compared to all of my pairs of Vibrams. They are stiff and hard. The rubber in the sole is hard and makes loud tapping noise against the ground as you walk. The grey on the sides feels almost like plastic. Also, the shoes don't seem to be well ventilated. One would expect a shoe called the bare xf to be flexible and soft, but these are not. I gave them to a friend who fell in love with the idea just like I did when I first saw them, but now he too will not wear them and says the same thing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great for CrossFit
Size: 12.5Color: Thyme/Black/OrangeVerified PurchaseExcellent shoe. Only issue is the import duties which makes it somewhat too expensive.
Using for CrossFit workouts - very light and hardy.
Takes a while to get used to the barefoot style while running on roads etc.
Overall great buy.

3.0 out of 5 stars leider zu klein

2.0 out of 5 stars this is not a good choice.
Inexpensive shoe. Does not provide a barefoot experience, the sole is made of a cheap, almost platic-like material that does not bend well. Still a decent shoe, if you're not interested in anything barefoot related. If you want a barefoot shoe, this is not a good choice.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good shoe for parkour
Size: 10Color: Thyme/Black/OrangeVerified PurchaseLove these shoes. Use them for parkour training and the grip and proprioception is great. Thin sole so encourages good landing technique when jumping.
I had to order them based on the EU size as opposed to the UK size, as the UK sizing seemed a bit different (smaller) to most sports shoes I've bought previously. Because of this, the size ended up being a little larger than expected but I suspect the smaller size would have been too small. That's just a personal thing so may not apply to everyone. Overall a good shoe.
