Call the Midwife is back following a double-bill festive special and here is all you need to know about when it returns.

Call The Midwife star on 'challenge' of filming Christmas special
Call the Midwife is returning to BBC One off the back of an emotional Christmas special that picked up in 1969. The show's social media accounts have already previewed an "important scene" for season 14.
The caption read: "The end is approaching... With all this talk of endings, we thought we'd share a little technical detail from this behind-scenes picture of Zephryn Taitte (Cyril), as he completes a close up for an important [season 14] scene."
Not long after, it was confirmed that production had wrapped, with a new photo showing Stephen McGann (Dr Turner) and Natalie Quarry (Nurse Clifford) holding a clapperboard.
They shared: "We have just received this traditional 'end slate' clapperboard shot from the set of Call the Midwife, where the very final scene of Series 14 has just been filmed!!! This year it was the turn of Stephen McGann and Natalie Quarry to bring the filming to a close with a VERY emotional story ..."
Viewers will have to tune in to find out what heartbreaking stories are in store. Here is all you need to know about when the series begins.

Call the Midwife season 14 will begin airing on Sunday, January 5 on BBC One at 8pm.
The series is made up of eight episodes, with the first synopsis reading: "It's March 1970. The team support a pregnant teenage girl whose parents believe in an immaculate conception.
"Demonstrations cause havoc for the Nonnatus team, whilst Nancy’s relationship blossoms."
In the Christmas special, Nancy helped a charming man who was seeking an appointment with Dr Turner and he asked her on a date.

She declined the invitation, but later saw him at the Nonnatus House carol service and sparks appeared to fly.
All of the main cast will be returning including Jenny Agutter as Sister Julienne, Linda Bassett as Phyllis Crane and Judy Parfitt as Sister Monica Joan.
Helen George is back as Trixie Aylward with Laura Main as Shelagh Turner and Georgie Glen as Millicent Higgins.
The new series of Call the Midwife airs on BBC one on January 5 at 8pm
