9-1-1 Calls on WWE’s Ronda Rousey to Grapple With Fires in Season 3
Onetime MMA fighter Ronda Rousey is now a firefighter, on Fox‘s 9-1-1. Meaning, she’s gone from being a fist responder to a first responder. (Really, the jokes write themselves. But I should probably move on….)
Currently a WWE wrestler, Rousey is set to recur during Season 3 as Lena, a fearless member of the LAFD’s Station 136. Our sister site Deadline first reported on the casting.
Whereas Season 2 of Fox’s first responder thriller kicked off with a devastating earthquake, a newly released trailer for Season 3 (embedded below) shows a massive tidal wave rushing towards a beach full of unsuspecting Angelenos. That imperiled crowd includes Buck, who’s enjoying carnival games on the Santa Monica pier when the wave starts making its way towards shore. As alarms sound and chaos ensues, Buck screams, “Get off the beach!” while sprinting to safety.
How will the 9-1-1 team pick up the pieces after the sea comes slammin’ down? Find out when Season 3 premieres on Monday, Sept. 23 at 8/7c.

For some inexplicable reason, I love this show. It’s not deep, or even really thrilling most of the time. But it’s damn entertaining, and I enjoy the characters a lot.
I just wish Connie Britton would come back for a one or two episode guest-spot!

Would it kill them to add more police and dispatchers to the show? I want to see Athena and Maddie interact with more people and make friends.
Ronda has made several transphobic comments in the past. It’s shocking to me that she would be cast considering how the show’s creator Ryan Murphy has shown amazing trans characters on POSE.

Sooo there’s a Tsunami in California now?😲……now the EQ episode was no joke cuz as a Cali native naw….not ready for all that. Anyways the stories on this show are CRAZY but damnmit that’s why I LOVE IT everybody on this show are awesome can’t wait for it to return!!!

Somewhere in the world, by someone, these stories have truth behind them. The names and characters may have been changed but the storylines do have some facts behind them.
The baby-pipe emergency, the boa constrictor emergency was also based on a real story.
– The window-washer whose harness snapped? New York City
– The rollercoaster disaster? 14-year-old girl caught by bystanders after she fell from a gondola ride at Six Flags Great Escape in Queensbury, NY. There are many tales of amusement park rides gone wrong.
– The burglar who was cornered by the household dogs? In Virginia who came home to find blood splattered on the walls and realized their pet German Shepherd had fought off a home intruder.
– As for the little girl who was hiding in her home when burglars broke in? That happened to two teens in Florida.
I think that some people may have to google or YouTube the actual stories and they will see that they do tell the stories of actual events. Plus what man would not want to be handcuffed and threw on the ground by Angela Basset or a Woman go on a blind date with Chimney? We love this show!!!!
I absolutely love, love, love Ronda Rousey and think she’ll be a great addition to the cast of 9-1-1!!! Can’t wait to see the premiere episode for fall schedule. Of course a tidal wave, what else to start off this premiere! Last year it was an earthquake, this year a tidal wave!!! Great, can’t wait!! Keep up the good work on the show guys!!!
Love the show but could do without Rhonda Rousey. She couldnt make it in the WWE so now this. Give us all a break pls. Dont ruin a good show.
Absolute joke. Every scene involving her is violence/masculinity based. Jokes to hit one of the fire fighters. Next scene weight lifting . No free weights until rousey. Fight club. JOKE!!
