Looking for your favorite stars from cancelled TV shows? They’re still around. Here’s what some of them are doing these days.
Adrian Paul (Highlander: The Series, The Colbys) has been signed to star in the Sci Fi Channel’s original movie Captain Drake. Paul will play the real-life title character who sets out to find the legendary Tree of Life to save the life of his daughter. Wes Ramsey (Charmed) is also part of the cast. The film will debut sometime in 2008.
Vanessa Williams (South Beach, currently Ugly Betty) is joining the cast of Paramount Pictures’ NowhereLand picture. She’ll star alongside Eddie Murphy (The PJs) and Thomas Haden Church (Wings).
David Sutcliffe (Gilmore Girls) has been cast for an upcoming storyline on ABC’s Private Practice. Sutcliffe will play a cop who becomes a love interest for Dr. Addison Montgomery (Kate Walsh).
Busy actor Woody Harrelson (Cheers) has signed to co-star in director Stephen Belber’s comedy Management. He’ll play the yogurt mogul former boyfriend of a character played by Jennifer Aniston (Friends). Harrelson also recently agreed to star in The Other Side comedy opposite Giovanni Ribisi (Friends) and Jason Lee (My Name is Earl).
Michael Jai White (Clubhouse) has landed a starring role in an independent film called Blood and Bone. The action movie recently began filming in Los Angeles.
Jordi Vilasuso (Fashion House) has been signed to join the cast of director James Cotten’s La Linea. Vilasuso will play a homosexual drug lord and the film stars Ray Liotta (Smith).
Kevin Weisman (Alias) will be joining the cast of October Road for a few episodes. He’ll play a rival professor at Dufresne College where Nick Garrett (Bryan Greenberg) teaches.
Caroline Lagerfelt (Nash Bridges) will play the grandmother of Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) on an upcoming episode of CW’s Gossip Girl.
D.B. Woodside (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Murder One) has some spare time on his hands now that Viva Laughlin has been cancelled. He’ll be guest starring on Grey’s Anatomy on November 13th.
Brian Bloom (Drive) has been cast in a recurring role in FOX’s Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles. The series is expected to debut midseason and is a sequel to the Terminator 2: Judgment Day movie.
Barret Swatek (7th Heaven) has landed a recurring character role on the upcoming Ed Zwick/Marshall Herskovitz web series quarterlife.
Michelle Williams (Dawson’s Creek) has been signed to star in the feature film Mammoth. Williams will be opposite Gael Garcia Bernal and they’ll play a New York couple in crisis.
Saturday Night Live and Will & Grace alumna Molly Shannon will appear on three episodes of ABC’s Pushing Daisies. She’ll play Dilly Balsam who opens a competing sweets shop across from the Ned’s (Lee Pace) Pie Hole restaurant. Stay tuned!
