TV show description:
This drama revolves around teenager Joan Girardi (Amber Tamblyn) who begins to see and speak with God, who appears in the form of seemingly random and unlikely people.
Joan is asked by God to perform tasks that initially appear to be trivial but are often the cause of significant positive results.
Life gets very complicated as she keeps these conversations a secret from her family like her police detective father, Will (Joe Mantegna); art-teacher mother, Helen (Mary Steenburgen); 16-year-old science-geek brother, Luke (Michael Welch); and her paraplegic, newspaper-writer brother, Kevin (Jason Ritter).
At school, Joan’s friends include boyfriend Adam Rove (Christopher Marquette) and rebellious Grace Polik (Becky Wahlstrom).
A well wtitten, well acted, TV show that appealed to a wide range of people of all ages. Since it is running on Start TV I am watching it for the first time since the very first time it was aired. It just goes to show you that original, important, and relevant TV shows can be thought provoking, educational and very entertaining. There need to be more of them. I appreciate Joan of Arcadia even more than I did the first time around. I am 68 years old.
i’m still sad this show ended. maybe they could right a book to finish it instead? i’ll literally take anything.
Wow! I really enjoyed this show. As the other comments note. so disappointing to have no resolution. Why do all the good ones die first?!
Why did it end?
I fill that this show was super the acting and the stories where writen very well. It does not make sence to cut a show that has so much meening and reated G.
This is the show I referenced in regard to the Sarah Connor Chronicles last episode (or potential last episode). This was a VERY well written and plotted show, and it really made people think every time they watched it. And just when the 2nd season got really interesting, and you thought they were going to really take the show in a deeper direction, it was cancelled, with no resolution at all.
