
Julia Smith
I am an Assistant Professor in the Labour Studies Program at the University of Manitoba on Treaty 1 territory and the homeland of the Métis Nation.
My research and teaching focus on the political economy of work and labour relations in North America and the history and politics of women’s labour activism. I have an interdisciplinary Ph.D. from the Frost Centre for Canadian Studies and Indigenous Studies at Trent University and an M.A. and B.A. Hons. in History from Simon Fraser University.
