Cebu FC failed to move up the 2022 Philippines Football League (PFL) table following a scoreless draw with Azkals Development Team (ADT) on Sept. 3 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Cebu FC remained at fourth place, while ADT stayed at fifth place after the draw.
Cebu FC had more scoring chances and had a total of 22 shots compared to ADT’s eight total shots. Out of the 22 shots of Cebu FC, seven were on target. ADT just had three shots on target.
Marius Kore almost scored a goal in the 60th minute but his shot from point-blank range went over the crossbar.
Ren Okuda was very close to giving Cebu FC the win with a header in the 90th minute. But his header was just inches from going in and hit the corner post.
ADT goalkeeper Julian Schwarzer, the son of Aussie legend Mark Schwarzer, was on top form and did an excellent goalkeeping job despite the constant aggressive attack by Cebu FC, which earned him the Man of Match award.
Kaya FC-Iloilo kept its unbeaten run in the 2022 season with a 3-0 win over Stallion Laguna FC.
Mendiola FC 1991 won its first match of the league compliments of a 90th minute goal by Ashley Flores for a 1-0 win over Maharlika Manila FC.
Kaya FC won its fifth straight match and still holds the top spot with 15 points, while idle United City FC stayed at second place with seven points. Stallion FC is third with seven points, Cebu FC is fourth with five, ADT is fifth with four points, Mendiola FC is sixth with three points and Maharlika FC is last with no points.
