Notre Dame de Paris

Notre-Dame Cathedral, also known as Notre-Dame de Paris, is a masterpiece of Gothic architecture located on the Île de la Cité in Paris. Construction began in 1163 and was completed in the 14th century. The cathedral is renowned for its stunning facade, intricate sculptures, and iconic twin towers. Inside, it features beautiful stained glass windows, including the famous Rose Window, and a vast, vaulted nave. Notre-Dame has been a site of significant historical events and cultural importance, including the coronation of Napoleon and the beatification of Joan of Arc. Despite being heavily damaged by a fire in 2019, it remains a symbol of Paris and French heritage, with ongoing restoration efforts to restore its former glory.
