A national test of the Alert Ready system will take place this morning.
Newfoundland and Labrador will issue one test message to be distributed over radio, television and wireless devices at 10:55 island time, 10:25 in most of Labrador.
The Alert Ready system is used to allow government authorities to rapidly warn the public about imminent or unfolding threats to life.
Not all Canadians will receive the test alert on their wireless device depending on device compatibility, connection to an LTE network, settings and cell tower coverage.
