WALTON COUNTY, Fla. -- The state is now reviewing a copy of an audit for the Walton County Board of County Commissioners.
This comes afterthe Walton County Clerk of Courts found expenses being used for people not employed by the county. They also found alcohol and hotel purchases that had not been approved.
The five County Commissioners accused of misusing their county purchasing cards claim the report is filled with errors.
The Office of the State Attorney, First Judicial Circuit of Florida, first received and reviewed an official copy of the audit report.
Now, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement will begin its investigation.
