Washington High School student with 5.07 GPA earns scholarship to University of Chicago

PENSACOLA, Fla. -- A student at Booker T. Washington High School in Escambia County has been awarded a full-ride scholarship to the University of Chicago.

Teddy Robinson -- a Take Stock in Children scholar, SGA President and track star -- received a Quest Bridge Scholarship to the University of Chicago, which has a 6% acceptance rate.

The scholarship is valued at $300,000.

Escambia County Public Schools said Thursday that Robinson has earned various accolades during his time at Booker T. Washington High School, while also exhibiting a 5.07 GPA.

Robinson's hard work has earned him the scholarship, which includes tuition, room and board, transportation to and from, and books.
