WATERVILLE (WGME) -- The city of Waterville organized an event Tuesday to get people in need connected with basic services.
Experts on mental health, addiction, housing, adult education, child care and more were all in one place to offer help.
Organizers say homeless people have worked hard to establish a community that helps.
“They are helping clean up, not just where they are camping, but other abandoned campsites,” event organizer Todd Stevens said. “They are putting trash where we ask them to and Public Works is picking it up just like any other community.”
He says bringing people together with community groups builds a stronger, healthier Waterville.
