Apples, Honey and Goat Cheese Crostini- the perfect appetizer for Rosh Hashanah, or any Fall meal! Crunchy apples, sweet honey, and tangy goat cheese.
Happy Monday! How were your weekends? Mine was fantastic! I just got back mere hours ago on a redeye from San Francisco where I was visiting my brother. We galavanted, drank wine, high-fived. It was awesome! I’ll share some photos soon. But now I’m back and it’s officially the home stretch before Rosh Hashanah. Time to freak out?

No way, Jose, as Stephanie Tanner always said. If you are hosting this year, you probably need a few appetizers to appease the masses. This Apples, Honey and Goat Cheese Crostini twist on the classic apples & honey is sweet, savory and spicy. All the things I hoped for for 5774! Yahtzee. First, drizzle baguette slices with olive oil, salt and pepper. Cook until the broiler for about 1 minute per side until brown.
Meanwhile, slice apple into thin slices.
Once the bread is ready, immediately rub on garlic.
Let cool slightly, and spread with goat cheese and sprinkle with red chili pepper flakes if desired. I desired!
Top with apple slices, pomegranate seeds, walnuts and honey.
Try not to eat them before your guests all arrive!

Ingredients
- 1 baguette sliced into 1/2 inch pieces
- Olive oil
- Kosher salt
- Coarse black pepper
- 1 clove garlic
- 6 ounces goat cheese
- 1 teaspoon red chili pepper flakes
- 1-2 apples Fuji or granny smith work great!
- 1/4 cup walnuts diced
- Arils from 1 pomegranate
- Honey
Instructions
- Preheat oven to broiler setting.
- First, drizzle baguette slices with olive oil, salt and pepper. Cook until the broiler for about 1 minute per side until brown.
- Meanwhile, slice apple into thin slices.
- Once the bread is ready, immediately rub on garlic.
- Let cool slightly, and spread with goat cheese and sprinkle with red chili pepper flakes if desired. I desired!
- Top with apple slices, pomegranate seeds, walnuts and honey.
- You can toast the bread a day ahead of time, but assemble right before noshing!
