    St. James Catholic Church

    St. James

WIELAND recently completed renovations at St. James Catholic Church, enhancing both its Parish Hall and the exterior courtyard to better serve the downtown Orlando community. Designed by Houseman Architecture, LLC and built by WIELAND, the project began in fall 2023 and was turned over to the Diocese of Orlando in September 2024.

Initially founded in 1880 as part of the Diocese of St. Augustine, St. James later became the central church of the Diocese of Orlando in 1978. WIELAND holds a rich history with the Diocese, completing past projects such as Most Precious Blood in Oviedo and Holy Cross Catholic Church in Orlando. Although this is a smaller renovation, WIELAND is proud to deliver its third successful project to the Diocese, strengthening its connection with the Orlando Community.

    Briggs District Library Grand Opening

    Briggs Grand Opening

Not every project receives the same level of community attention as the Briggs District Library renovation in St. Johns, MI. This transformation addressed the library’s overcrowding issues, revitalizing a space that had remained unchanged for nearly 30 years. Now, the library offers a welcoming environment for residents of all ages, featuring areas for group learning, 3D printing, a dedicated children’s space complete with a rock tunnel, and even spaces for learning musical instruments like the violin.

The grand opening was a night of reconnection – neighbors met and mingled while rediscovering this renewed hub of innovation. WIELAND takes pride in every project, but seeing the community embrace the Briggs District Library Grand Opening made this one especially meaningful. The team is honored to have delivered a space that will enrich St. Johns for years to come.

    Amanda Canfield’s 25th Anniversary

    Amanda Canfield Anniversary

Join WIELAND in celebrating Amanda Canfield’s 25th Anniversary!

Amanda began her journey by earning an associate’s degree in accounting from Lansing Community College before transferring to Davenport University, where she completed her bachelor’s in accounting. After graduating, she launched her career in the banking industry – until recently retired CFO Maureen DeVota made her an offer she couldn’t refuse. In a quasi-bank heist move, Amanda received a job offer on a slip of paper, inviting her to join the WIELAND team.

Since coming aboard in 2000, Amanda has been an integral part of the WIELAND family. Her caring and outgoing personality has driven her involvement in Junior Achievement, the Ingham County Animal Clinic, and as a founding member of the WIELAND Culture Club. Recently, Amanda was promoted to Controller, stepping into a leadership role years after her unexpected “hold-up” at the bank.

Thank you, Amanda, for 25 incredible years of dedication, leadership, and a personality that lights up the office. We are grateful to have you as part of the WIELAND team!

    Safety is the Top Priority

At every WIELAND job site, safety is the top priority. From safety minutes during job site meetings to comprehensive safety manuals in project proposals, WIELAND integrates safety into all aspects of its daily operations. Leading this commitment is Scott Mason, Safety Director and newly Certified Construction Health & Safety Technician. Approximately 50% of his responsibilities involve traveling to job sites to oversee the proper implementation of health and safety plans, while the remaining 50% is focused on improving WIELAND’s safety-related administrative tasks.

WIELAND’s dedication to safety is further reinforced by a highly trained workforce. This includes 82 First Aid/CPR-certified employees, eight OSHA 10, 64 OSHA-certified professionals, and in 2024, hired third-party safety managers to provide additional oversight. In 2024 alone, the WIELAND team has completed 14 training sessions, covered 13 topics, and accumulated a total of 1,971 training hours. These efforts underscore WIELAND’s commitment to maintaining a safe secure work environment.
