Format changed
[edit]- This seems to have changed format - the old numeric IDs no longer resolve, but pages are findable by text labels as with, eg, charles-martin-bowman. I don't seem to be able to find a reference to the numeric IDs anywhere on those pages. Not sure what best should be done about this. Andrew Gray (talk) 22:16, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
Major changes : community consensus
[edit]Motivation
[edit]A little help to get started: Help:Deprecation.
Depreciation : withdrawn identifier value (Q21441764)
Changes : formatter URL (P1630), format as a regular expression (P1793), format constraint (Q21502404), source website for the property (P1896), Mix'n'match catalog ID (P2264), Wikidata property example (P1855)
Add : single-best-value constraint (Q52060874)
Participating users : @Pigsonthewing, Innocent bystander, GZWDer, Andrew Gray: and Notified participants of WikiProject Canada @ArthurPSmith: —Eihel (talk) 20:48, 13 February 2020 (UTC)Alerted here, then here, the site still exists, the catalog of entries has not changed. Only the links to the site and IDs are broken. The proposal for this property is no longer current. As stated in the rules: Major changes to a property should be discussed on its talk page first. Such a proposal requires seven or more days of debate. So let's revive this property !
As in the proposal, I take the example of Fralambert and add another Item that I have already modified. There are 2 examples, but the rest is the same:
- Dalton McGuinty (Q568204)Ontario MPP ID (P3054)dalton-mcguinty
- William Anderson (Q16059748)Ontario MPP ID (P3054)william-anderson
So, I propose the following changes in P3054 (Changes are in bold):
Wikidata property example (P1855) |
| |||||||||||||||||||||||
add value |
formatter URL (P1630) |
|
obsolete rank for old formatter URL

format as a regular expression (P1793) |

source website for the property (P1896) |

obsolete rank for old source website

Contraintes
property constraint (P2302) |

single-best-value constraint : if the other ID remains, the numerical values represented before will have to change rank (obsolete).

For {{Property documentation}}
(practically empty) at the top of this page, nothing will be impacted: the different fields, old and new, will coexist, but the references will make the difference. Help from Magnus Manske would be invaluable in making another Mix'n'match.
I await your comments and votes below ( Support, Oppose). Cordially. —Eihel (talk) 15:18, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
Discussion
[edit]- Support Logical change, I totally approuve. @Cortomaltais, Simon Villeneuve:--Fralambert (talk) 17:35, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
- Support Much needed and appreciated update. Can the property be adjusted to point to either the English or French version of the member's page ? The difference in the URL is the /en/members/all part that becomes /fr/deputes/tous.--Cortomaltais (talk) 20:33, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
