Usage

• id= or 1= final portion of the Art UK URL, everything after https://artuk.org/discover/artworks/search/actor: (optional -- drawing directly from Wikidata is preferred; but can be overridden locally in this way)
• name= or 2= name (optional; defaults to page name, excluding final parentheses if any)
• wikidata=Q.... give link for an artist other than the main subject of article (optional)
• nocount=true suppress number of works (optional)
• oxbio=true output sis followed by: see extended Oxford Dictionary of Art and Artists biography, under "artist profile" (optional)
• addtext= output is followed by the specified text (optional)
• ref=true format the output as a reference (optional; use with retrieved=)
• retrieved= output is followed by ". Retrieved " and the specified date (optional; use with ref=)
• type= overrides the default "artwork" (e.g., |type=painting or |type=sculpture)

By default, the template will use the page-name of the article (without any disambiguating final parentheses), and try to retrieve the Art UK identifier automatically from Wikidata.

• An artist can also be linked by giving the identifier part of the Art UK directly, e.g.:

* {{Art UK bio|id=de-marees-georges-16971776|name=George de Marées}}

• Artworks by or after George de Marées at the Art UK site

* {{Art UK bio|desmarees-george-16971776|George Desmarées}}

• Artworks by or after George Desmarées at the Art UK site

This can be necessary if an artist has more than one page at Art UK. However, if possible, it should be preferred to link via Wikidata as above, as the Wikidata entry is more likely to be updated if the Art UK identifier changes.

• To link to an artist other than the subject of the article, e.g. Charles Walter Simpson (English artist) on this page, supply the name and the wikidata item explicitly, as:

• 27 artworks by or after Charles Walter Simpson at the Art UK site

If the Wikidata item contains Art UK artist ID (P1367) without the qualifier number of works (P3740):

If the Wikidata item does not contain Art UK artist ID (P1367):
