Seán Grehan (born 8 January 2004) is an Irish professional footballer who plays as a defender for Carlisle United on loan from Crystal Palace. He is a Republic of Ireland youth international.[1]
Career
From Dublin, Grehan came through at Bohemians and featured in the first team for the first time in the FAI Cup against College Corinthians in July 2021. He signed for Premier League side Crystal Palace from Bohemians in August 2022 following a trial.[2][3] He signed a new three-year contract with Oalace in December 2023.[4] In January 2024, he signed on loan with Carlisle United.[5] On 3 February 2024, Grehan made his professional debut as a late substitute in Carlisle's 3-2 defeat away to Leyton Orient.[6]
International career
In 2022, Gregan received a call-up to the Ireland U19 side.[7] The following season he became a regular feature in the Republic of Ireland national under-21 football team.[8]
Style of play
He has been described as a versatile player, who can play on the right or left side, and centre-back who loves defending but can also pass the ball from the back.[9]
